Weekly status report

Good morning everyone,

the best mornings for me are those after a release is done. Even though this was now just a "demo" for the new minigame if you so will. Still,  a lot of work went into this and even though I had hoped to finish it quicker the result that it's done now is what matters.

I recovered well over the past weekend, but still cough a lot. But the headaches are gone, which has improved the work a lot.

So from Monday I tried to make up for lost time. Especially for Melissa's relationship building I needed more time than I had planned at the beginning. Originally I planned to have 1 big dialogue with her (in which you get to know her motives), but everything that came after that I did after Monday, when I decided to round off the whole thing a bit more. It was important to me to keep the whole romance optional, something I have done in the past with some but not all of the characters. Especially in the case of Emily, this is something that gnaws at me and something I definitely want to change in the upcoming rework update.

However, I can imagine that one or the other would have liked to have more content for Melissa in this update, but for me it was more important to develop her character and not just get to the point quickly. According to my own planning, I now have 3 weeks for this update. The goal will be to complete the current quest and further develop the relationship with Melissa (which will include a talk with John and of course more intimite time with Melissa). To what extent Mira also comes into play I leave out for now. I know that some of you think that I have done too little for her character development in Mira's update. I have to agree, even if the part that you can now corrupt her has also contributed a lot to her character development and I have already written some new dialogues for her.
I will see if I can improve something in the rework update.

Well, as a loose release date for 0.5.6.0 I'm keeping end of the month for now. In addition to the story I also want to expand the treasure hunt minigame. As I said I plan to double the number of possible places again. I also want to change the way new maps are randomly selected, which is different from the current implementation. Currently it is only so that not 2 times in a row the same treasure map can be selected. I would like to change this so that all treasure cards are played through in random order before a reset takes place. That is something I will work on next week together with further story progression.

But for now, time to relax a bit and renew some strength.
