He was going off a hunch the whole time which happened to be true. Just cuz i used the term mystery doesnt mean this was supposed to be some super deep detective show with a big plot twist. There was no confirmation in season 1 and the patreon comments confirmed it. nothing more to it.

Becca leaving Homelander's room looking like a wreck is more so proof of the rape than not. Why would a woman who is willingly cheating on her husband with a HUGE celebrity leave his room looking EXACTLY like she just cheated on her husband with a HUGE celebrity? Do they think Becca is an idiot? Homelander even set it up by telling her he wanted her to do his marketing, which was clearly a ploy to get her alone. It's also shown that Becca and Butcher had a happy relationship and there is no reason to believe that Becca would have thrown that away. I'm open to anyone bringing any other evidence that it wasn't rape given only what we see in season 1 besides Homelander's word. Also, saying that something will be explained later is not a spoiler. Saying that we learn more about Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back is not a spoiler, because we already know Darth Vader exists. Just like we already know the rape exists given my previous evidence.

2023-08-16 06:05:21 +0000 UTCI'd say it's much simpler than that, and many just assumed Homelander actually raped her because throughout the entire season he's been nothing but irredeemable, even up to the point of the final reveal and cliffhanger during season 1, and Don seems to have taken everything as it should and even said "I'll just wait and see what's shown in this season", and that's great! But no, some comments just like to be Don's spokespersons or something and act all offended and contentious on his behalf. Let's just calm down and enjoy the reactions, mate, we all came here for the same thing and I doubt anyone wants to ruin it for Don, themselves and/or the rest.

Not a single character even suggests it might be consensual. Some mystery. Almost seems like it’s just exposition being given through the lens of what information the characters have.

Homelander even had that whole speech towards Butcher claiming that he did all of that without any proof.
