2023-11-22 14:00:37 +0000 UTCI am 10 minutes in (when man did the research) don please...they're separate universes and not connected at all, skull island doesn't take place after or before king Kong they're two different sagas, this movie is part of the Godzilla universe, hence why Godzilla is the next movie to watch ๐

2023-11-19 17:08:55 +0000 UTCIf you can fit it in between, I'd recommend watching Shin Godzilla as well. It's not part of the "Monsterverse" per se, but it's one of the best Kaiju movies of the last decade, imo.

2023-11-19 02:25:11 +0000 UTCDon, King Kong 2005 was set during the depression era. 1930s. Skull Island is after that as they are talking Vietnam. A good indicator is to Look at the difference in the clothes and cars they are driving. 2005 is a reimagining of the original movies that had King Kong scale the Empire State building. It was the tallest building in the world at that time which was the appeal of using it. The originals are in the early part of the 20th century when this was the case. This one is not.
