And zilla is fine with just knowing that Kong knows that Godzilla could have killed him, but just decided not to. Because he could.

He never wanted to kill kong, but just to put him in his place, because godzilla really is superior to kong.

Which is why he never killed him when he could have. Kong eventually did submit. In his own way. But still staying true to being an apex predator also. One rules the hollow earth.
