However, the power dampening stuff is all tech, I'm not sure it could be turned into a liquid unless they had access to nanotechnology, which they probably don't. Also, I can understand drugs working on other metas, because their bodies work similar to a regular human, but a speedster isn't just another meta, their metabolism makes it so that no drug works on them and if it did it shouldn't take as long as they made it look in this episode. Barry should've woken up before they even got him to the next cell. They should have no idea how to trap a speedster, we've seen how hard it is to trap one back in season 1. They might know a lot about metas, but the only ones that know how to handle speedsters specifically are other speedsters and their teams. No one else has come across another speedster long enough to know any of their weaknesses, especially the police. It just doesn't make sense to me still.

It IS a prison that is familiar with meta's so should have means to stop metas. Remember, Cisco works with police to improve their chances of fighting metas without meta powers of their own. They have power dampening cuffs, the power dampening net throwers etc... it is not a huge plothole to imagine you have poison that can work on metas, like consumable version of power dumpener. And if you don't believe Cisco would come up with something like that, Amunet would and warden is in cahoots with Amunet. i mean, its hard to be in meta human traficking business for years withouht few of these trick up your sleve. That being said, the show if riddled with plotholes so them pulling this withouht giving it a second thought would not surprise me even though i do have explanation for this at least

2024-08-27 18:25:50 +0000 UTCno they cant. he is able to stop time so much that if they try to surprise him he can yawn for 10 minutes in his time, take a suit off, take a shit, smear it on their faces, and still react to their surprise attack. episode 15 of season 4 literally proves it. As for the other comment, the matter of enjoying watching the show where Barry is not complete idiot... well yeah i actually would enjoy the show that make sense more than this crap. Not that i dont enjoy this crap, but it IS possible to enjoy something and be aware that its faulty and flawed. But to play devil's advocate, even if we had flash that is not completely retarded you could still have a good show because there is plenty of ways to make a good villain that Flash would struggle with WITHOUT making flash being stupid and falling for caveman level of traps or being sucker punches when he has super speed at his disposal. the "turtle", the "gas" man, other speedsters, people with precognition or premonition, people who can't be touched, people with passive abilities that trigger via conditions and not actively so stopping time doesnt affect them... plenty ways of making good villains for speedster so lets not pretend that this is only thing we can get and we have only choice of liking it or not. Its written stupidly, it has LOT of good episodes that feel great in the vacuum (when you ignore the fact its a show and only watch episode as its own entity) but all combined make for horrible show.

(he had to run all the way to china), get back, all while phasing through who knows how many shit... in mere few seconds that it took for that camera to look back at his cell (the public one, not secret one installed to look his cell only)... is reason why the plot of this show is retarded. it makes everything up to this point idiotic plothole. If he is THAT FAST how did he get caught by DeVoe's chair tentacles, how does he get punched by a giant shark, How does he get shot by captain cold gun? He is supposedly fast enough to run to china and back before captain cold even pulls a trigger but somehow he keeps landing in the way of the ray. And i am not talking about moments where he takes the shot to save others, i am talking about being hit by cold prediction shots. Benefit of doubt for Grod as he can read mind but even that is retarded cause in reality barry could drag Grod to china and back in a second but apparently he cant run to grod and land a punch without grod readin his mind and intercepting the punch or even punching him away? It just shows that writers dont have a clue about how flash powers work and just leeching the comic books content. its just so idiotic, between inconsistency in his powers and the drama this show is full of bad moments
