YES they paid for a permit to use the characters and ironically the stuff that they are reusing is only thing that has any quality in the show. what about this is difficult for your pea brain to comprehend? comic books dont have the drama to extent the show has it, they dont have plot hole in their stories, they dont have nearly as much inconsistencies between volumes. Advantage of the comic books over tv show is that each volume acts as a standalone story in its own universe and if multiple novels intertwine with each other comic books explains it. Thanks to this they are allowed to have multiple versions of Barry allen being different from each others and it wouldnt break immersion in character because each of these versions of barry are unique and its own entity. Arroverse as a series of tv shows act as one huge intertwines story and plotline but is written as standalone stories like in comic books which is why it simply doesnt work in tv format.

And i think i also addressed that episodes are good on their own as if they are all a standalone episodes instead part of a bigger show LET ALONE MULTI-SHOW UNIVERSE aka ARROVERSE. its not that episode where barry is dumb is bad, or that episode where barry can run to china and back in a "flash" is bad. or that some episode he is so powerful he can stop time for full episode while other episode he is so slow his enemies are dodging and blocking and even countering his attacks. its that these are back to back episodes that makes story incosistent and it does not tell a good story, all it tells is how incompetent the writers are. Not to mention lines are getting cringy and idiotic with each new season. 4 seasons of running gag of cisco naming all the metas and suddenly iris makes a stupid comment about why all villains names sound like they came out of comic books? clearly a line with intention to break 4th wall to tickle the funny bone of kids watching at expense of shows integrity
