He really said Iris you suck cuz she couldn't put out a fire on her first try after literally just getting the speed few hours earlier. I blame this one on Barry i mean come on, he didn't even tell her which direction to turn her arms first of all. 2nd of all he got all lost and confused which didn't help the situation at all. Iris and the rest are usually all calm behind the coms trying to come up with solutions which is how the com person should be. and 3rd of all how many times did Wally screw up or didn't know how to do some things even after having his power for quite some time and you never said "WALLY YOU SUCK". You're really pissing me off sometimes with your hate towards Iris for no reason. She's been good this season and did her job better then most could but you still see the annoying Iris from season 2 i guess

Reverse flash has red because he is REVERSE aka OPPOSITE and we learn that blue lines represent superspeed sickness and is lethal. So what is explanation behind this transfer of barry's powers to iris that makes it randomly purple other than tickling feminist balls for approval?

Iris became the leader because she was trying to live up to what Barry expected of her, and gave up being a reporter to do so. Eventually she came to terms with the fact that being the team leader was NOT her calling and she went back to journalism. At that moment Cisco was busy tryna get Barry Back and Caitlin was busy working with a criminal lmao. It made sense for her to take that mantle.. leaders just need to make tough choices and delegate tasks..even in the real world leaders do that without having the credentials.. in STEM fields.. many project managers are not scientists but still lead the time..and Iris could make tough calls.. she chose to save Caitlin instead of Barry..which was right.. and I don't think she did anything wrong as her time as leader..she delegated tasks to the actual smart people and kept them in check.. she made Wally go through training simulations which was for his betterment and did things that prioritized the city.. the writers added unnecessary drama with that scene in therapy.

Even in real life sometimes PHD's are managed by project managers that are not as qualified.. Being a "leader" sometimes just means being a supervisor.. her telling people what to do IS being a leader.. she delegates the tasks to the people that are smart. I mean she makes good tough calls..esp when she decided to look for Caitlin instead of Barry as he could take care of himself and she was right.. Cisco and Caitlin may be smart but they aren't necessarily good leaders.. initially, Caitlin was busy working with a meta human trafficker and Cisco was busy getting Barry back so Iris HAD to take on the role as team leader.. not saying it was the best writing decision but that does happen in real life so that literally negates your point lmao. Cisco has consistently shown to be hesitant and can't make tough calls. He let's his emotions get the better of him. He couldn't stop Frost because he was afraid of hurting her even though capturing her could've stopped her from aiding Savitar lol. So she became leader because she had to..and eventually she literally limits her involvement in the team to form her media empire..so idk what your point is lol.

Was it the right call? No. And eventually even SHE comes to realize it. Which is why she eventually goes back to journalism, because that is her calling. But her being a team leader..while unnecessary, isn't that far fetched.. ik work forces that sometimes hire project managers who are good at supervising and project management but yet only have surface level scientific knowledge. It's more like a supervisor role. You don't need a PHD to lead a team tbf. She doesn’t need to know how they do what they do, she just needs to keep them on task and motivated...which she does for the most part. I know Run, Iris, Run gets panned a lot, but I thought it did a great job showcasing Iris finally coming to terms with what she wants to do for a career and how she can best contribute to the team. I do have a problem with the consistency of her writing but that issue extends to all the other characters but some of y'all are so blinded by hate that you fail to see things with some nuance imo.

(spoilers) Caitlin does nothing except cry about Frost and be a doctor fixing scrapes..no development there.. Cisco gives up his powers only to become "mecha vibe".. Barry has no character development and no personal story in the later seasons..the show just becomes The Cecile..imo she was worse than Iris ever was.. the writers not knowing how to develop character's arcs is the issue and they are all equally as useless later on imo.. Caitlin becomes a mad scientist to bring Frost back even tho she knows the risks.. and she was removed from s9 only to be replaced by Khione and then brought back for the finale... the lack of stakes from the villians is another issue..these were the main reasons for the show's drop in quality imo..not Iris..she was barely even in the later seasons and only as an editor in chief/journalist..she wasn't even a part of team flash for most of it..and even then they sidelined her with the mirror arc and the time sickness.. meanwhile we got useless character's like Chillblaine.. Cecile ends up screaming at Barry and Iris for no reason in Armaggedon.. and somehow she's the strongest meta? Joe yells at Barry and Iris to save Thawne even tho that's so out of character..idk

(Spoilers) Her arc with CC Media was great.. but people are too biased to see that she wasn't really annoying in the later seasons. Eric Wallace then ended up getting rid of her character every season for no reason imo.. the same with Caitlin and Frost..their characters went nowhere in the end..and especially Caitlin's growth was stagnant..
