Don, in this show Lucifer is a "Fallen Angel". There are only angel wings and the color has no meaning. He is not a demon whatsoever, he just looks demonic in his true form. All of his brothers and sisters are angels. God is God, and the mother is also a celestial being. Maze is what you would think a typical demon from hell is. At least that's all I remember from watching this show ages ago.

All demons like Maze and the rest in hell are the children of Lillith (Queen of all demons), they are not angels. Lucifer is an angel who rebelled against his dad and therefor he was sent to hell, becoming the Devil. If Lucifer was to die, he would just go back to hell because of his soul. If Maze was to die, that's it, she would just disappear because she doesn't have a soul.
