Just like Stefan was Elena's toxically unhealthy life raft that kept her from drowning in grief (though with him it was more manipulative), Vicky was Jeremy's toxic life raft, except she was constantly dragging him under with her drug addiction and playing him while dating Tyler. This is also the start of the idea in this show that for some reason only Elena is entitled to choice and free will while constantly taking everyone else's away. I truly hate her, and Stefan with all his lies and manipulation and rewriting history for the other characters to make himself out to have always been a pure saint and Damon always an evil monster!
