They just have her in the show as “the witch girl.” Like maybe it’s just me, but if I knew my parent willingly left me and didn’t come back, why would I care if they got turned? Like me personally, if I got on this long without her, why would I need her now? Especially if they haven’t been a part of your life? Then when she knows the stakes of things, and shit happens to her family members, she holds it against whoever (usually Elena) as if there isn’t a greater evil they’re fighting. I’m sorry I’m just tired of Bonnie getting in her chest every season over shit that EVERYONE has to go though. You don’t see Caroline dipping for months at a time after her father died, or cutting herself off for weeks from people because of it.

When Stefan said, "You're also in love with Damon," she was about to deny it—until he hit her with, "Tell me that you don’t have feelings for him." And then she hit us with the classic: "I don’t know what I’m feeling." If Stefan hadn’t pushed her, she still wouldn’t have kept it real. And that’s what’s annoying—either come clean, admit you want them both, or pick one. Don’t keep switching back and forth. Not only that, but she’s also starting a feud between the brothers in the process.

The Originals wanted to save their own lives. Damon and Stefan didn't want somebody they love to die and Elena is a human who got trapped by an original. None of them are to blame in the sense they should feel guilty. Even Esther's reasons were understandable. Abbie losing her witchiness was a tragic consequence of circumstances
