Why is this choice, which affects everyone, not just Elena, up to Elena to decide? Also, Elijah is more trustworthy than Elena and Stefan. Why is it that the main characters are allowed to put their loved ones above everyone else, yet you seem to think that Elijah should put these strangers above his own family! You were almost there with her description of her feelings for Stefan. That is not love, he knew she was grieving and drowning in it because he had been stalking hr, so he then inserted himself into her life, based on lies and emotional manipulation, when she was not in a healed (aka emotionally stable state of mind) then after she healed she started bonding with and falling in love with Damon. And even her talk with Damon, it wasn't that she absolutely loved Stefan more, it was "he came into her life when she needed someone" and she met him first, and "maybe if she met Damon first it would be Damon she chose (which that choice would still be a false sense of obligation for the person who came in when she was not emotionally stable or mature enough to truly know the difference between love and a rebound). Also, 2 wrongs dont make a right, just because Elena is a piece of shit when she takes other's choices and free will away from them (mainly Jeremy) does not make it right for Matt to drug and kidnap her garbage self!

Any normal person feel sorry for Damon at this point, what is wrong with you, that don't feel normal emotions?
