And even in this episode where he asks Elena to trust him, he is quite clearly lying to her and keeping things from her! Trust goes both ways! Why the hell is she obligated to trust him when he has NEVER earned it in the past and certainly has not earned it this episode! I hate Elena more than you ever could, I assure u, her character is shit and does not deserve Damon, but I begrudgingly have to defend her over and over because at least half the time you shit on her it is from an unjust (and hella misogynistic) point of view! Everytime someone does something bad, Damon always gets the blame. I get Jeremy was compelled, but you as a viewer know that Damon had nothing to do with the dinner at Klaus' and compelling Jeremy, yet he still got half the blame!

It's normal to find it harder to overlook a character's flaws if they're boring or they do something that reminds you of a negative irl experience What's bothering me is instead of embracing it he's trying to make his hatred for Elena and the fact he only calls her out seem logical Brother it isn't logical and that's okay. Feelings don't have to be logical and it genuinely just makes him shoot himself in the foot trying to explain away a normal human emotions by trying to make it sound logical. She always thinks people are supposed to tell her everything, yet she stays keeping things from Stefan and even Damon sometimes. She's a hypocrite. It wasn't her fault, but she ruined the plan too. It would have been fine if she wouldn't have went there and did what she did. I can understand Damon feeling some type of way about Stefan not telling him the plan though.

Now she wants to learn to feed from Damon when she literally told Stefan that Damon wasn't the right person to learn from. Elena is very annoying.

When Stefan was getting taught by Damon, she lectured Damon about it and told him he wasn't the right person to teach anyone about feeding, she made Stefan feel guilty and looked at him like he was a horrible person for feeding on someone because of Damon trying to help him. Now she's taking lessons from Damon. I hate her character so much 🙄

And she doesn't make situations about her, others tend to make her the centre of their world. That's their issue. Not hers. "Her whining increased". I mean she did just die. I think I'd be an emotional wreck too tbh 😂. All that being said, you are completely valid for disliking her character. I just disagree with those points you made. Caroline definitely became the best version of herself when she became a vampire. I really disliked her character before that

The character of Elena as a vampire: JFC, whyyyyyy?!? I'm not an Elena fan. Every time I watch this series again, I dislike her a little more. She is a Mary Sue (must be involved in EVERYTHING and usually makes it about her) and incredibly annoying. When Caroline became a vampire, she became mentally and emotionally stronger, channeling her "control freak" nature into a strength instead of a hinderance. When Elena became a vampire, as far as we have seen, her whining increased, and her pathological need to be in the center of everything became all-consuming.
