How in the world would Rebekah have known that an apple -- a stupid little apple -- would lead Marcel to Hayley? How could anyone have thought that? You can buy apples like that in grocery stores and farmer markets! Yeah, she could have left without seeing Marcel, but that wouldn't have been true to her character. LOL, it's just funny. I don't blame Rebekah at all; it was simply an unfortunate connection. I think it's kind of sus and maybe a bit of a writer's cop-out that Marcel traced the apple back to that single plantation, though I know it did leave a traumatic mark on him.
