ITS FUCKIN KLAUS, I get it and can defo empathize with Elijah for entertaining the thought. Remember brodie (Klaus) did state to kill the mother (haley) and the child upon hearing of the news of having a child and then the first positive thing he says about it was in relation to Klaus’s overarching plans of being a King with the statement “every King needs an heir” which on its face implies selfish motivations rather than simple desire to have a child cuz its his…. well, child. While it sucks Elijah didn’t immediately side with Klaus and was rash in his condemnation, i totally…TOTALLY get the doubts, given Klaus’s NOTORIOUS “track record” which Don himself pointed out. Although, I heavily disagree with the notion that Haley somehow manipulated Elijah into thinking that way and condemning Klaus just cuz he is sweet on her. Like c’mon give Elijah a little more credit than that TF. Ngl this wasn’t as big of a dilemma as Don made it out to be loool, it was actually super straight forward and understandable AF

Klaus has betrayed her multiple times, stolen decades from her, destroyed/killed everyone she ever loved who wasn't him, torn apart her confidence and self-esteem, undermined her at every turn, and never actually supported her in anything that didn't benefit him. I love Klaus as a character, but fuck him, because Rebekah deserves to have her own life unshackled from him. Now, Elijah, she should never, ever betray. That's a good one. But absolutely she should screw over Klaus. She will never be truly free with him in the world. But then, that's rather the enduring, tragic, and interesting point. And yes, actually moving against him would likely end very badly for her. You seem to hold Rebekah to a much higher standard than Klaus. Though this Rebekah vs. Klaus bias may be simply because as interesting as Rebekah is, Klaus is about as thrilling as a vampire character can get. It's hard not not to hate/love/root for him. He and Elijah are my Top 2 favorite characters of this series.
