2025-12-18 12:07:11 +0000 UTCFrom my dim recollection of my days with the Alaska State Troopers, a recruit needs to be 21 years of age at minimum. I don't know if that's to enter the academy, or if it's just by the time they graduate and become a rookie, they need to be 21. At least, that's the way it was in the 1990s. I wasn't a trooper (cop) myself, but I did administration, assisted with search & rescue operations, and criminal investigations. Interesting times and a solid adventure for a 19-year-old not long out of high school. I also got to stay overnight at the training academy and flew all over Alaska in a small seaplane for trooper oversight.
