question. the only percy jackson media ive consumed is the ocean one when i was a kid and i loved that one. hermes, the metal rhino, the three witches were funny, is that percy jackson part of the olympians thing? or is it its own spin off or something?

2026-01-10 08:10:06 +0000 UTCPercy Jackson and the olympians books 1-5 was all classics. This movie was decent but did not translate the books well. I haven’t seen the show yet but they look closer to the books. Hopefully Don checks the series out after the movies.

It's a bit of a retread since it tells the same story, but I think you should try it out to see if it vibes with you. I used to adore the movies, but rewatching them now with you is kind of an oof, yeah. It's definitely a product of its time. (Take a shot every time they say "Check this out"). The movie definitely feels rushed and the second even more so. Sally was barely a character here. I prefer the TV Show myself, but I understand it's not for everyone, even the diehard PJO fanbase is divided. So like I said, you could see if it vibes with you first.

2026-01-08 11:41:24 +0000 UTCsoo...these comments are right I grew up with this movie and really like it, I have fun with anything fantasy and i can ignore flaws if I had fun watching, but I just watched the first episode of the show and lowkey this movie is slop compared to it. Don't get me wrong I didn't read the books but the show does/explains everything WAYY better. Although i do love the vibe era of movies this came out in, you just had to be there , but like you said the concept is super cool BUT- yeah...watch the show and you'll get what you want, no buts, i should have watched it sooner honestly.
