UNEDITED EXCLUSIVE: Doctor Who Season 7 Episode 1 REACTION!

I love revisiting your reactions to NuWho. I don't recall if I've ever noticed this before for this episode and just forgot. But Oswin's line "There another word for screaming genius, that sounds modest and a tiny bit sexy?" But then played off in another direction by 11's witty retort. But, Screaming genius! EXTERMINATE! I love it when writers do these kinds things we pick up on later on. 🤣

I actually love this episode. I'm surprised it didn't make you feel too much - I found the twist of Oswin being the dalek really moving when I first saw it and it gave me chills. And I thought the girl playing her did an amazing job of making you feel like it was a character you'd known for ages. Also think it was the best piece of acting Karen Gillan has done in the show with the showdown between her and Rory - and it's not often I compliment her!

There should be a club “would have been a great companion, too bad they died”. They would meet Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. Rory could lead the meetings.

I liked this premiere more than any of the previous, except for season 5. The divorce thing did feel tacked on. They were trying to show that the Pond's life continues without the Doctor. Oswin was adorable. Too bad she died.

Season 7 and its specials are one of my favourites, it really pays off the plot stuff Moffat has been laying since S5. I would say to look out for the unorthodox season structure as the season was split in half for reasons that will become clear soon. All that stuff with "The first question that must never be answered" and "the Silence" are still going on in the background, so the Daleks asking "doctor who?" is kinda calling back/foreshadowing. This episode has grown on me on the rewatch but yea I still prefer S5 or S6 premieres. Other than that, loved the reaction man, can't wait for you to go on this adventure :)

Loved the reaction. Will say that in later episodes, especially in this season and seasons to come. you'll look back at this episode and appreciate it more. Not gonna lie, i felt the Amy Rory thing was too fast, but i do love that Rory addressed what we've all been OBVIOUSLY thinking, that he loves her more than she loves him haha.

Ah, I see it's been so long since the Daleks were on screen that you've fallen prey to the Rhoticity of the Darleks once again.

I can see why you thought this premiere felt a bit tame, compared to the premiere for S5 and S6. For me, this is probably my 3rd fave premiere, S5 and 6 being my favourite.

There were 25 different models of Daleks in this episode, representing every type that’s ever appeared on the show since 1963. You’re right that it doesn’t feel like a season premiere. There’s reason for that: it feels like a movie. I remember Moffat saying this season would be different in that every episode would feel like it’s own movie (with slightly different credit sequences each time) and scaling back on the season long mysteries like The Crack or The Death of The Doctor.

Another of the episodes that I wasn't initially a fan of that have gone on to become one of my favourites. Quite the fan of the first half of S6, so looking forward to most of the next few episodes.

My friends do that too, not intentionally, but because they think there should be a hard consonant (like an ‘r’) there. However it is quite annoying to die a little so often 😒

1) Dooski is CLEARLY an alien. You are under its full control;yet you simply have no perception of this...all you can see is a seemingly harmless cat! 2) The Doctor visited Skaro several times in the Classic series,so this is familiar territory to him. 3) The next bunch of stories (including this one) all have slightly different opening title sequences. See if you can spot the differences.
