Oh ok. Thank you

Kale

It was brought up in Victory of the Daleks, when the Doctor tells Amy to back him up and she says "what would I know about the Daleks?" ... "Planets in the sky, you don't forget that... That's not possible." It turned out to be caused by the cracks in time.

just ignore me...

What you said at the start about this being in rose's universe makes a lot of sense it would explain why torchwood and unit are shut down and haven't been used in years and explains why most of the people aren't used to aliens and have forgotten about it. I do remember something about people forgetting about all the aliens but I can't find that episode and there was a cyberman episode relatively recently being in the episode 'dark water' where the whole world was exposed to it so I don't understand why they have forgotten that. If someone can help me clarify just so I know I am not chatting bs.

This was just a one off episode but this season is an improvement from the last one. I love the idea that somehow the Doctor is in a parallel universe. It may explain the other Doctor. So many questions that need answering.

SO as a person who actually really likes Yaz, and have just been attached to her from the beginning, it's very frustrating that she isn't given much to do, so I was very excited for her. This season, let's be real, she has been kidnapped a lot, so maybe this is a way for her to take back that power? Also I think she really craves the Doctors approval, and want to impress her(I love the moment where she goes "yesss!" after getting a gold star), and that makes me both excited and nervous for her. Like, are we venturing into Clara level recklessness? Colour me intrigued.

Lmao the girl at the end looking very cheery considering she saw her friends corpse explode less than an hour earlier

There are similarly poor episodes story wise but usually they had more memorable performances and significant moments that make them unskippable. This one just didn't make that list. With the exception of the scene with Graham and Jake on the beach. Plus as Jake is piloting the ship. The rest of the episode didn't give much punch script and performance wise for me. I keep getting that foreshadowing feeling of Yaz's demise. It doesn't feel good that I'd be fine with that, if it does happen. One and half seasons in and I'm yet to feel any connection with her character sadly. Ryan has had a few moments. But Graham is the only one I'd hate to lose. Thirteen's line about being a romantic.... I smiled the first time. But on seconding viewing it has begun to make less sense. So if you weren't a romantic, you'd of just let him sacrifice himself and not saved him. I keep finding a lot of lines they give Jodie don't make much sense in my head.

There was a lot in this that I would have revised in huge ways before I put it out for the world to see. I have a habit of rewriting stories that I think could be great but just didn't turn out well, in my head. This is one of those episodes. The vlogger still bothers the crap out of me. Have the both of them infected, have Ryan encounter them as they both succumb to the disease, and then develop his character more, because I have no idea how he'd react to that, if he were alone when it happened. By now, I should know how a character is going to deal with a situation. But if they put him in that situation, we could have developed his character, and not introduced these new people, who were left undeveloped, and written massively poorly. Then later, when Yas is deciding to go through the teleport, she could be alone, and we could watch the struggle on her face as she is clearly afraid, but now determined to overcome her fears introduced when taken alone, and she survived. Development for her character. Instead, we get a side story of the astronaut and his ex police husband and no one is developed, at all. The story is intriguing to me, though, which is why I am still thinking about how I would change it. (I latch on to that sort of thing for dear life, though. *coughs* Lost *coughs*

I liked this episode. I think it structured the environmental message a lot better than Orphan 55 did. I feel like the companions were more active here and I do appreciate that Yaz was given more to do. Although it's a shame it didn't lead to something more big. I liked most of the other characters except for the vlogger girl. I didn't necessarily dislike her. I just found it odd how she didn't get enough time to grieve for her friend and there was no acknowledgement for when the bird watcher guy died too. Possibly cause there was a bit too much going on. The mystery element was interesting but there's a few iffy bits that could have been a bit better executed. But other than that, I enjoyed it. Much better than Orphan 55 and had a very wholesome resolution with Jake, Adam and Gabriella surviving and leaving together.

bruh this is wack, just had the very weird realization that for the first time ever you have seen a New Who episode before I have

It's certainly a big contrast to last week, lmao. But I think it's alright! Harmless, spooky story with a fairly well executed message and some fun side lovers. Also.. Yaz/13 tension huh?! Interested to see if it builds..

WhoviVortex

I really didn't like this episode when I saw it on Sunday. On a rewatch, I actually like it a lot more

Oliver Harrison

I got so excited when Yas was going to go back into the warehouse the actress eyes looked like they were tearing up a bit i was like YES! THIS IS IT!! they are finally gonna kill her off! I dont like having to hate on her so much but her character has been so badly used, we had a 1 off story giving her some kinda depth but mostly just a boring dull under used character, Also apparently vloggers are the worst of the worst they dont care about their friends or co-workers they are just like oh well my friends dead, NEXT

Magus

Like 3 companions wasnt too much to write for I felt like they were introducing the current companions replacements lol. While i think this is a better save the planet episode than orphan55 it was more boring somehow. Orphan55 i was at least down for this resort and it getting infected with a virus but the second the monsters showed up then they went out to find Benny, like come on now the old dude is dead, then after being outside for like 15 minutes they are like "oh NOW hes in dreg territory we better go back. Isnt the whole planet their territory at this point? lol. a lot of dumb writing here and poorly direction scenes from time transitions and travel transitions and birds being in the sky to pose a threat and conveniently taking a break so when 2 of our characters want to have a chat.

Magus

Loved your summing up - agree completely! Too many characters and story elements to jam into a 50 minute episode. The Hitchcock homage was interesting;but he had a two hour movie in which to make birds look sinister - in this story we get a couple of quick glimpses of them in the sky,and that's simply not enough to build up suspense! Also agree with your 'multiverse' theory...or perhaps a 'divergent time line'?

Ian Smith

Hahah yup. Odds Ryan knows her 😂 also... talking Cat in Ontario... Doctor’s onto Dooski

Failwhale34

Found myself wanting Gabriella to replace the fam, until she got all "What do you meant you don't know me, what's wrong with you guys?" I was happy to throw her to the birds then. 😂 Also wanted Suki to replace them, and you saw how that turned out. 🙂 Maybe just go get the talking cat?
