The Band of Frozen Brambles can be used as a Magical Focus.
Protean Prison - As a Magic Action, you may point at a creature and cast the Polymorph spell, with a Spell Save DC15, unless you have your own Spell Save DC, in which case you may use that.
If the target fails its saving throw, a strong, thin, chain similar to the ones connecting the finger sections to the band appears around the creature’s neck, digging in uncomfortably no matter the size or shape of the creature the target has been Polymorphed into. When cast in this way, the spell does not require Concentration and can only be broken by breaking the chain around the creature’s neck. If a creature dies, while polymorphed, they do not revert back to their original form until the chain is broken.
While the creature remains polymorphed, the wearer of the Band knows their location at all times.
The wearer of the Band of Frozen Brambles can effortlessly snap this chain as a Magic Action. Any other creature attempting to break it must make a DC25 Athletics (Strength) check as an action. A creature polymorphed in this way cannot break the chain themself.
This ability can only affect one target at a time and attempting to use it on another creature, ends the effect on the previous target, whether the new target succeeds or fails on their saving throw.
