I was most likely talking. If I remember correctly I think I address it in the next episode realizing it or something. I don’t remember

Did you not notice the words pie guy was saying to luffy about how they actually won that confrontation and "when you aim so high you find battles not worth fighting". Idk you were looking away/talking but that would put it more into context what happened, thats the answer. luffys fire was never lost. Also shojo answered that he is a human when luffy asked what species he is, goes to show that masira is human too and the variety of the types of people are classified human

Yeah I watched the episode again because I wanted to see if I was missing something, and I made the connection. I talk about it in the next episode

It’s funny you bring up what was going on with Luffy because I bring this up in the next episode. I watched it again and made the connection haha

Luffy's "fire" didn't go out at all when he was mocked, on the contrary... he and Zoro where the ones with the most dignity in that place. Remember that flashback where Luffy and Shanks are hanging out in Makino's Bar, and then the Mountain Bandits appear and they "humiliate" Shanks? and how Shanks did nothing about it? Well... here Luffy was following his example, just like Shanks realized that fighting over someone spilling alcohol on him wasn't worth it.... here Luffy and Zoro realized that Bellamy and his crew gave up on dreaming, so fighting them was not worth it either. If anything i think Luffy pities Bellamy, because then... of what use is the freedom that being a Pirate gives if you don't have any dreams or goals to pursue? I also love Cherry Pie Guy's words, his conviction towards dreams is very palpable.

Nice reaction, it really is a unusual opening to a new arc but you get used too, you're entering on a beatiful piece of lore

Bellamy looks like a character from a marvel comic, love his design

Luffy's order not to fight back in the bar was a big callback to Shanks pulling a similar stunt when he was a kid. With Nami taking the role of Child Luffy in not getting it at all. XD I love Robin being the one to actually get the info they wanted, off-screen. She's proving her worth already. (To be fair, she IS the archaeologist. Girl knows how to research. ) Also one of my favorite lines from pie guy at 8:01, though I will completely admit that I prefer the English version. ("The dreams of men will NEVER die!") It's one of the few specific lines I remember from this arc, which for a series THIS big is saying something.

This is an interesting set of episodes because this is the first time we have seen Luffy not fight someone. Up until this point Luffy has thrown down with anyone and everyone. But its worth noting that in all his fights so far he has had a conflict of ideals and beliefs that has motivated him to want to beat the person and essentially crush their dreams. While Bellemy doesn't have any goals or aspirations, he's just a dude fighting people and once Luffy realizes that he loses the will to fight. Its a very interesting piece of character development and setups a super iconic scene with unnamed Pie Guy. Side note its absolutely hilarious how Chopper got scared and jumped in the water only for "big bro" Zoro to immediately dive in and save him
