2024-12-14 03:48:27 +0000 UTCOH BOY THIS EPISODE! First off The Fraud is such a funny Principle Brown episode; we get to learn more about him! Also, fun fact Mr. Small's 'peaceful protest' is a reference to the Tiananmen square protest, an iconic image of a guy standing in front of a path of tanks in protest. So THE VOID helps put a focus on one of the most forgotten characters in the show (aside from Rob), which is Molly! In case you forgot she was in the background several times in season 1, but then mysteriously disappeared having barely any appearances in season 2. Her only major episode was "The Pressure" from Season 1, the episode where Gumball and Darwin accidentally kissed each other in her treehouse. Since then she was just kinda forgotten about. The Void itself is such a major talking point. So this confirms that the void is where 'all the world's mistakes ' are, and there are so many references to things that have been forgotten about throughout history. The Paper clip (Clippy), Jorts, Laserdisc, The Mullet, The Zeppelin (which is in particular a reference to the hindenburg disaster), Titanic, Pluto, and so much more! The frog character you didn't recognize is a reference to Crazy Frog, a series of music videos where this frog would drive an invisible vehicle and make weird noises in tune with a popular song. What’s strange about the void is that it can somehow transport actual people in there like Molly. But the only reason people would be sent there is because they are deemed ‘forgettable.’ TAWOG continues to break the 4th wall and acknowledge meta, but this ep really takes the cake in expanding this meta into an actual plot point in the show.

2024-12-13 23:33:02 +0000 UTCIncase you don't remember, Molly was shown sometimes in the first season, the most lines she got was during season 1 episode 9 "the pressure", and they were shown in her treehouse talking about boys :] I'm pretty sure the writers just forgot about her as well and this was a way for them to put her back into the show 💀
