Just as the other person said, Aokiji was originally on Long Ring. Instead of random passerbys, he helps Tonjit cross the sea and solve his problem, rather than Tonjit's grandson.

2025-01-21 23:09:46 +0000 UTCI typically hear Aokiji pronounced like "Ow-kee-jee", which... SEEMS to be how it's being pronounced here? It's been a long time since I've heard it even in English, so I'm actually not sure, but the others here seem to (more or less) be saying the same thing.

2024-12-30 22:15:45 +0000 UTCJust to make this perfectly clear… These episodes are still technically part of the Long Ring Long Land Arc, since in the manga they never left the island before encountering Aokiji. Aokiji (pronounced Ah-Oh-Key-Gee) is one of the Marine Admirals, that means he is one rank above someone like Garp. So yeah…. He’s a big deal. We also got the names of the other 3 Admirals: Akainu and Kizaru, and if you recall…. Akainu was already mentioned by Jonathan in G8. And to answer your question: Aokiji’s Official height is 9’7 feet tall. And here’s another fun fact: the “names” of the 3 admirals mean different colours and animals in Japanese….
