FAQ

So, I get the same questions over and over, and it’s actually fairly unproductive for me to look at and answer them, because it’s just frustrating for me most of the time. So, I’m going to try and boil down the main questions I get into a few simple answers.

  1. When is the next chapter? I don’t know. I literally post them as soon as I finish the first draft. I’m not holding anything back. I am doing my best to write them as quickly as possible, but I’m only human and I know consistency is one of my flaws. Please don’t ask me this, I don’t have an answer.
    1. However, there is an easier way than refreshing to see if I’ve posted something. My discord is connected to this. As long as you join my server, you will get a tag, and I will ping everyone every single time I post a chapter. I have always done this. There is no need to refresh; just wait for the ping.
  2. When will the book be done? Again, I don’t know, but I’m trying to finish Clover City this month. I have my editor tentatively scheduled for December, so I’m trying to make that deadline.
  3. When will the audio come out? My narrator is tentatively scheduled to record in March. It’ll be a while after the ebook release because her schedule is packed.
  4. Why can’t you structure your tiers and releases more like Shirtaloon? Seriously, I get this question way too much. Shirtaloon is amazing, and his release schedule is awesome. I cannot do that. He has a whole team helping him and is able to churn out content that I am not able to replicate. Please stop comparing me to him. Travis is an outlier. I’m not going to change my tiers. Eventually, the 1$ tier will be able to read the full book. If you have a problem with the cost, please either switch to that or read it when it comes out on Amazon. Patreon is, primarily, to support me as an artist. I realize not everyone sees it that way, but that is how I treat it. I’m doing my best to produce content, and the people who are supporting me here are doing exactly that: supporting me through the good and bad times. I am incredibly appreciative of that, but it doesn’t entitle anyone to make demands of me, sorry.
  5. When is AToP book 5 coming out? I am planning to write Domain when I finish Clover City. I don’t know when that will be, because it’s entirely dependant on me finishing CC first.

Hopefully this answers most of your questions. I post weekly updates to discord and my FB group. Thank you so much for all your support. <3

I promise to max my membership in October if you can PLEASE post at least 1 chapter following either of your book series. You are allowed to post content that sucks... as long as you are willing to edit it before it is on Kindle... but honestly, I really want to see more AToP chapters, and am starting to really enjoy the other to.

David Oldfield

I will upgrade/max my membership when the prologue or first chapter of Next book of aToP appear. I currently have 9 memberships, so I pay as much as I can afford for the most productive ones. Pretty sure that I am not the only one who does things that way.

David Oldfield

Just reread all of AToP, I eagerly await the next book! Thank you for a wondeful fantasy!

I looks like your facebook account might have been hacked... But I do love your books so please keep it up anyway :D

Shirtaloon burns himself out a lot. Often working himself until he HAS to take a break. Breaks are about relaxing and not destressing. You write at your pace Jay. We all appreciate your work, that's why we subscribe.

Stuart Thwaites

Selkie writes much but he has a week in a month where he do Not Post chapters..... MelasDelta is the one who i need to praise when it comes to writing speed.... Do Not know about shirtaloon have Not read His Work yet

You are such and awesome person! No matter when the next one comes I’ll be here waiting patiently. Keep being awesome!

Aaron Kibby

Every author is different and writes at different speeds, and Shirtaloon or Selkie Myth (BtDM) are just nutty,, and not good metrics to try and match. As long as they are coming, that's all that matters.

Astalen
