2022-12-13 04:48:19 +0000 UTCI was amused by your nod to the propaganda police - one of my own mottos is "propaganda works!" I know I'm a week late on this, but here's a fun anecdote regarding that. When I was in college shortly after TG came out, I was considering career options and looked into the Navy OCS to the point of going to talk to the recruiters. They were pretty excited by my test scores (less so by my anthropology major). I was interested in being a helicopter pilot but they told me I couldn't (for the USN at least) b/c of my eyesight -- but that I *could* be a flight officer, "You know, like Goose from Top Gun!" Ummm... you know he *died*, right? Ultimately they lost interest when I refused to lie about having used marijuana (I was in college in the 80s for chrissakes!), and I lost interest when I realized that if I joined I'd be forced to work for years with assholes just like these guys.

Change your slogans ("I watch STUFF and you can too!") and you're good to go. First you started the transition by twisting the MCU into your format, and now, you're like, "Ah, fuck it, I just wanted to analyze Top Gun: Maverick. Deal with it" lol.
