By extension its kind of interesting how media frequently thinks that framing an issue as having a "left wing" and "right wing" side of the controversy is somehow unbiased when that very framing is arguably biased and misleading. Obviously there is an essential need for attempting to be objective in journalism but it kind of goes back to the question of what we consider "news." As Alec Karakatsanis has discussed before why does shoplifting make headlines while the number of people killed by air pollution each year doesn't. (Also the denial/justification spectrum that author discussed seems to have been adopted by the current presidential administration. No wonder I keep thinking about my childhood in the early 2000's growing up with Bush as President.)
