"Render render render render render rendAARRGGHHFFFFFPSSzzzffff"
-DavieZwei's graphics card

Rendering is bit-breaking work! (hardy-har-har) In honor of my dying card's years of dependable service, I am posting a few random renders here from other game/story concepts I've had over the past six or so months. None of these ideas are currently in work (HS gets my undivided attention) but I may come back around to them some day.

Anybooblers, the good news is that I already have more than half of the rendering done that I wanted in the next release and the card isn't quite dead yet. I'm still able to render by turning down the quality and then increasing the resolution so that I can reduce it for postwork to hide the jaggies and artifacts. And once the poor card finally blows up I'll just switch to the crummy onboard graphics port to write/code up to the point I end up at. So I'm still aiming for a Friday release hopefully! The show must go on!

P.S. I'm researching cards and I could get the same one for about $300 but I'd like to upgrade at least a little to help with my torturously slow composing and rendering times. If anyone has suggestions for a good (cheapish) card that works well with Daz3d Nvidia Iray please send them along!

No idea if it was simple, but the fan was still working (loudly). Not a techie type so I just got a replacement. I traded in the 'bad' one so maybe they'll find out and fix it.

Why is your graphics card failing? Could it be something as simple (and cheap) as a failing fan or loose heat sink?

Not sure if this is related, but I have noticed that Ren'Py keeps some persistent data in your OS's user data directories. So for example even if you don't copy your saves from the old directory, you can go to the load menu and see thumbnails for saves in the old directory and they could even load.

I've noticed a minor error with the savegames. You see, when I change to newer versions at PC and copypaste the old save folder I find that my save is at a different path or different step (normally to the past) at the storyline. I suspect this is all about the coding but I wanted to notify. (It is not at all annoying to me after all)

some general advice- before you buy anything check that your computer case and PSU - ( power supply unit ) can accommodate your new card And about witch card to buy - you can probably get better advice if you ask on the Daz3d forum

The premise of Cummunista sounds exactly like the sort of thing I'd want to play!

"Mediocre game author" you are underselling yourself quite a bit there

I second checking out an nvidia rtx 2070, I got mine real cheap now that it's not the top tier, only second best. real cheap is still $500 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/3sJmP6/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2070-super-8-gb-video-card-900-1g180-2515-000

Not sure what you had before, but I get along pretty damn well with my 1070 Ti! The 2070 might be a better bet right now, though, depending on price points where you are... (also, love the renders!)
