Platitudes and false sincerity are in season, as I'm sure you've received a good many "here's what we're doing to help during this crisis" emails in your inbox already.
"Our company cares and you need to continue buying our products."
I'd very much like to claim that I am different from them, but I am the same. I rely on your support to continue working on my game.
Though, to be honest, it isn't my game anymore. I want to believe that it is ours, yours as much as mine... as phony as that sentiment may sound. I would never have made it this far without you and that has nothing to do with money. Your suggestions, your feedback, and even the rude/snide/emotional messages I have received: they have driven me to continue to create. And if you have waited patiently in silence, know that you awaiting the next update has motivated me to push through the weariness, stress, and doubt that would have destroyed this project had you not been here.
Please take care of yourselves. Remember that even in the most dire straits, someone out there cares for you. Someone out there needs you, whether you have met them yet or not. Me, for one.
A Goblin's rough hand strokes through your hair after a long thankless day of carrying loot for an ungrateful team, knowing that true friendship is perhaps the best healing you may ever receive.
Thank you, friends. I appreciate you.
