A Problem of Proportion

So when I started making the character designs and renders for Healslut, I had all the proportions for all the characters already figured out. I know all their heights and weights and even if one boob is maybe a bit bigger than the other boob.

But DAZ3D treats proportion and scale the same in a lot of cases and many poses also contain scaling info, which means if I change a character's stance or even expression, they sometimes grow or shrink in size.

Admittedly, I got tired of keeping track of it all because it was tedious and it took too much time from actual content. I began adjusting the sprites after they were rendered instead, which let me focus on story and sexytimes instead of math (bleh). Of course the problem continued to compound due to this and now the character proportions are all over the place.

In short, you can see from the images how out of whack things have become. Twig is too tall, Roopah is too short, and Kayden's got a head like a watermelon (among many other problems).

Thankfully for the scene renders I was more conscious of the sizes of the characters and I feel that most of them are fairly accurate, if sometimes purposefully wonky (Manster and Butterslap had to undergo some shrinkage in their scenes, if I remember correctly).

Sooo I'm working on fixing the wonkiness. Usually I would do something like this "behind the scenes" without mentioning it but these fixes have (and will) take a lot of time to finish. That and I'm trying to be more transparent with my workflow. I know my communication is sporadic at best and I apologize for that.

This will also improve the quality of a lot of these renders as I am rendering them at double resolution and using smart scaling to make the sprites nice and crisp.

• Twig 147cm / ~4'10"
• Champ 198cm / ~6'5"

*Roopah is almost always wearing heeled boots, so she appears taller than she actually is.
