Regarding the Steam Dark Siren tagging issue.
Added 2024-04-05 01:56:20 +0000 UTCSadly, we have been informed that we are unable to remove the "Frequent Nudity or Sexual Content" tag from Dark Siren.
We are unable to provide Dark Siren to countries like China and Germany with this tag.
I've asked again if I can edit any content on Dark Siren to remove the tag,
but We have to think about the possibility that it won't work.
If we can't remove the tag, Dark Siren' profitability will not be significantly improved.
This makes us hesitant to spend time updating Dark Siren.
I think we need to reconsider the new update with a Sadako feel that we recently planned.
I feel lethargic and depressed.

Best solutions arise when people communicate with one another... as you stated before; most regulations are government-driven and do not represent the tax-payers wishes. German government likes to point a finger on other countries just to handle things the exact same way. I am well aware this is not the thread to discuss this further but if you feel the freedom of speech is on the line; this counts for Europe all the same; Germany in particular.

Not here, on this Patreon, but I remember recently, on the Dark Siren Steam forum, someone was complaining that the point mode for Dark Siren was too hard to farm.... I just wanted to reply "You serious? have you even PLAYED The Last Saintess? Forrest of Relics??? Those are HARD!" But it's his opinion, right or wrong, I just try to to argue with people. :p

I really held my fingers crossed for Dark Siren to be unbanned for fans and for you to make money off it. Although an implementation of that Sadako-themed concept (with her areolae peeking and an ever so short, butt-revealing dress 🤤 🤤) would collide with regulations. As for the translations - I don't deem German to be necessary. Thank you for your hard work!

It is just like with Woke Culture. Most Woke ideology, comes from the West (USA/Europe), but it is NOT the people, who are Woke, it is the Governments, that are Woke. Going Woke has led to the downfall of MANY companies and product so far, and yet, every day, we hear of a new company going Woke. So I was guessing that China was going to be the top of sales. But again, I always argue, do the rest of us COMBINED not at least balance the lost of a another country's sales, even one as big as China? Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. The real sad thing about it, is how many companies, video games or not, will put China at the priority of ALL other countries (even their own), when it comes to sales, censorship, and types of content. Look at what happen to Blizzard. Once the most beloved video game makes in the world, now, they are a joke. Not solely because of China, of course, but they put everything on the line, for that one country. It's a common trend in video games for this to happen, and I hope that it is not going to be the case with eTIRUe in the future.

It's like, "you have this other country, trying to make games for us, and that is awesome, so I don't mind the imperfect translation." That's how I like to think about it.

However, we need to keep our company running so we can keep making games, so we have to care about the sales ratio. It varies from game to game, but in general, China/Korea/USA/Japan/Germany have the highest sales rate. The reason we don't support Chinese is sadly because none of our team members speak Chinese well. English is not great, but we know a little bit, and Japanese is pretty good because we have a friend who used to live in Japan. Korean is our native language, but we don't have anyone who speaks Chinese, and the same goes for German. I considered running the Patreon in English+Korean, but we have a friend who speaks Japanese, so we continue to support Japanese.

And two, and only you can know this, based on sales data via Steam. But are the lost of sales from a few countries REALLY going to make Dark Siren not worth updating anymore? I mean yes, China sales are huge I would guess, but you don't even cater to Chinese fans, via social media. Your communications are mainly catering to the West, Japan and of course, Korea. I know it can be disappointing to lose fans from certain positions of the world, but do the remaining countries, really not contribute that much? Again, maybe they don't, only you know that data. I would be very interested to see the % of sales, per country, for eTIRUe games.
