Ch. 200 The Monarch Organization's Request
Added 2023-12-10 16:01:01 +0000 UTCDr. Serizawa was dressed in a gray suit and wore small round glasses, with the typical Japanese look of a scientist. He appeared cultured and scholarly, the epitome of a researcher.
Seated on either side of him were a Western man in a black suit and an Asian woman in a suit.
The Western man appeared to be in his early thirties, sporting a stubbly beard that gave his otherwise kindly face a touch of ruggedness.
Russell briefly glanced at Dr. Serizawa, the Western man, and Asian woman.
When he saw the Asian woman, he couldn't help but exclaim silently in his heart.
"Mr. Bradley, hello. I am Ishiro Serizawa, the current head of the Monarch Organization."ization."
"These two are Mr. Coleman and Dr. Chen."
"Mr. Coleman is in charge of the technical aspects of the Monarch Organization, and Dr. Chen is an expert in mythology and ethnology."
Dr. Serizawa briefly introduced Coleman and Dr. Chen.
Mythology expert and ethnologist?
Upon hearing Dr. Serizawa's introduction, Russell showed a somewhat puzzled expression.
Seeing the confusion on his face, Dr. Serizawa immediately explained, "Dr. Chen mainly uses mythology to study the Titan creatures. By analyzing primitive beliefs, local legends, and ethnic customs, she creates a species profile for Titan creatures, allowing us to analyze their behavior patterns and lifestyles."
In the normal world, most mythological stories are either baseless or the result of primitive worship by ancient people. However, in this world, many mythological stories are true.
As a simple example, in this world, Norse mythology is the travel and activity history of the Asgardians on Earth.
Although it's not 100% accurate, many of its contents are true.
Of course, ordinary people on Earth are not aware of this yet.
According to the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, S.H.I.E.L.D. will only learn about Norse mythology after Thor is exiled to Earth by Odin.
But based on the current situation, Russell doesn't think that Thor will be exiled to Earth.
This isn't the same universe as the movie universe, and judging from Thor's actions in preventing the destruction of Earth by Knull and his symbiote armies, this universe's Thor is much more reliable.
Since Thor has become more reliable, the likelihood of him being exiled to Earth is low.
However, you can't say for sure. Who knows if Thor will act recklessly again and provoke the Frost Giants, leading to Odin stripping him of his powers and exiling him to Earth.
"I heard from my assistant that the Monarch Organization wants to discuss something related to Godzilla with me. I wonder what topics you would like to discuss?" Russell asked Dr. Serizawa.
Although the Monarch Organization had an official background and even its own armed forces directly subordinate to it, compared to S.H.I.E.L.D., Russell had a relatively positive impression of the Monarch Organization.
Unlike S.H.I.E.L.D., which believed that the world would descend into chaos without them on Earth, the Monarch Organization followed more rules and regulations.
Apart from matters related to Titan creatures, the Monarch Organization showed little interest in other issues.
Moreover, unlike S.H.I.E.L.D. and the military, which sought to capture or eliminate Titan creatures, the Monarch Organization was more like an animal protection organization.
It's just that the "animals" they wanted to protect were slightly larger and posed a greater threat.
"We have no intention of taking ownership of Godzilla from you. We simply hope that you will agree to our scientific research on Godzilla."
"We hope to find a way for humans and Titan creatures to coexist peacefully through our research on Godzilla."
Dr. Serizawa spoke earnestly, with a hint of pleading in his tone.
Under normal circumstances, Dr. Serizawa wouldn't use this tone of supplication.
But the problem was that they weren't dealing with ordinary people now; they were facing Russell, who had the ability to confront Titan creatures head-on. Dr. Serizawa those with him had some fear, whether more or less, in the face of Russell.
"Is it really that simple?" Although Russell had anticipated that the Monarch Organization wouldn't make any unreasonable requests, he still felt that Dr. Serizawa was a bit too naive after hearing his words.
Russell did appreciate Dr. Serizawa's ideal of wanting humans and Titan creatures to coexist peacefully, but he also thought Dr. Serizawa was a bit too naive.
Not to mention Titan creatures like Godzilla, even with regular animals like lions and tigers, humans still couldn't completely coexist peacefully.
"The Monarch Organization is not a spy or special agent organization like S.H.I.E.L.D. We respect all forms of life. Titan creatures are not a threat; they only want to reclaim their rightful place in the world."
Dr. Serizawa spoke with great seriousness.
Looking at Dr. Serizawa, who exuded the unique innocence of a scientist all over his body, Russell smiled and shook his head.
Although he didn't quite understand why Dr. Serizawa, at his age, still held such naive thoughts, he decided to grant Dr. Serizawa's request to some extent.
"As long as Godzilla's safety and daily life are not affected, I agree to your research on Godzilla."
"But in return, I want all the research reports and data you obtain from it."
"Furthermore, if you discover other Titan creatures, I hope you can share information about those creatures with me."
Russell looked at Dr. Serizawa and said slowly.
"No problem, we can share all the research reports and data with you!"
Dr. Serizawa replied with great excitement on his face.
"As for Godzilla's coordinates, I will have my assistant send them to you later."
"By the way, that black dragon is currently with Godzilla. That black dragon is not a Titan creature, so I advise you not to have any plans concerning it."
"Also, when you go, it's best to bring several tons of chocolate. That black dragon likes chocolate."
"Chocolate?" Dr. Serizawa and his team looked at Russell with puzzled expressions.
"Yes, chocolate. Any brand will do!" Russell said seriously.
"All right, we will prepare it in advance!"
Dr. Serizawa replied solemnly.
After discussing Titan creatures for another ten or twenty minutes, Dr. Serizawa and his team left the office.
After they left, Russell raised his wrist and glanced at the vintage Patek Philippe manual watch from 1953.
It was not yet eleven o'clock; there was still some time.
"Contact Coulson and tell him to move the meeting time to eleven-thirty."
Russell instructed No. 3.
"Yes, sir!"
No. 3 immediately responded.
