Ch. 225 Checking Learning Progress

Feeling Peter's anticipation, Russell didn't refuse and agreed with a smile.

After suppressing his physical qualities such as strength and speed to be similar to Peter's, the battle between Russell and Peter began.

Hulk decisively moved to the edge of the training ground to watch as an audience.

"Let me see what you've learned these past few days," Russell said, not initiating an attack but raising his right hand and beckoning Peter with a crooked finger.

Peter didn't speak but watched Russell intensely, fully focused.

Russell initially thought that Peter wanted to find his weaknesses, which was why he hadn't approached him. However, it turned out he was mistaken.

Peter wasn't searching for his vulnerabilities; he was prepared for Russell's attack.

Although Russell had personally guided Peter only once on the day he awakened his Spider powers, that single guidance had left an indelible psychological shadow on the still-underage Peter.

Falling and getting back up, being knocked down over and over again—Peter couldn't remember how many times Russell had knocked him out with a single punch that day.

The only thing he remembered was Russell's casual and effortless demeanor when he knocked him down.

"Since you're not choosing to attack first, allow me," Russell said, and he swiftly covered the more than ten meters between them, appearing in front of Peter like a teleportation.

As Russell approached, Peter's still somewhat untrained Spider-Sense went berserk like an alarm, reminding him to move away from Russell immediately.

Although the Spider-Sense provided a warning, Russell's attack speed still exceeded Peter's expectations.

His legs hadn't even started to move when Russell's fist was already in front of him.

Watching the white "eyes" on Russell's headgear quickly narrow like pupils, Russell slightly increased the speed of his punch.

Boom!

Without any suspense, Russell's fist hit Peter's head, sending him flying.

After sending Peter flying with a single punch, Russell didn't immediately pursue him but stood in place, furrowing his brow.

"If this is the result of your learning these past few days, I'll have to reconsider letting you join the Justice League," Russell said in a displeased tone.

Based on Peter and Hulk's earlier sparring session, Peter's performance shouldn't have been this poor. However, it was clear that when the sparring opponent switched from Hulk to Russell, Peter became somewhat apprehensive.

This wasn't a good habit at all.

Upon hearing Russell's words, Peter, who had just landed on the ground, stood up with an unhappy expression, looking sullenly at Russell.

"You get angry so easily; I guess this is Spider-Man!" Russell continued to "tease" Peter.

Although he was unhappy, Peter's intelligence didn't diminish because of anger. He knew Russell was intentionally provoking him.

After taking a deep breath, suppressing his unhappiness and fear, Peter turned his gaze back to Russell.

Then, he decisively launched an attack.

Peter raised both hands and fired webs at Russell.

Although he fired webs from both hands simultaneously, Peter didn't use the same type of webbing.

His right hand fired rapidly, while his left hand launched web grenades!

Peter was taking it seriously now!

Under rapid-fire mode, the web bullets flew toward Russell like bullets.

Although they were fast, evading these web bullets was not difficult for Russell.

Even if it were real bullets instead of web bullets, he could easily dodge them.

Russell constantly shifted his body, as if he had predicted the angles of the web bullets, avoiding each one fired by Peter.

He didn't avoid all of the web bullets.

When there was only one web bullet left among those fired by Peter, Russell reached out his right hand and caught this web bullet, which was smaller than a golf ball.

Then, he used a slight wrist movement to throw this web bullet toward the web grenade closely following behind.

Boom!

A not-so-loud explosion immediately followed.

The web grenade instantly turned into a large web.

At the moment of the web grenade's explosion, Russell's figure disappeared again.

The next second, he reappeared in front of Peter.

"Much better than before, but still not enough!" he said.

While speaking, he sent another punch towards Peter.

Although the speed of this punch was the same as before, this time, Peter wasn't hit.

He quickly raised his right hand, demonstrating the agility beyond that of an ordinary person, and dodged to the side just as Russell's fist arrived.

While evading Russell's right fist, Peter engaged in close combat with him.

This time, Peter finally demonstrated the learning progress of the past few days perfectly.

Although he still lacked some real combat experience, his improvement from earlier was remarkable.

When Peter began to attack, Russell also started to take things a bit more seriously.

Soon, what seemed like a "stalemate" battle unfolded on the training ground.

Peter's punches and kicks rained down on Russell like a storm.

Moreover, Peter fully utilized his agility advantage, performing various unbelievable dodges and attacks like a world-class gymnast.

Although Peter had adjusted his mentality and was exerting his full current strength, he was still somewhat too inexperienced in Russell's eyes.

Even if he suppressed his physical qualities to match Peter's, the difference in experience alone meant that Peter had no hope of winning.

From the beginning of the fight to now, Peter had trained for only four days. Compared to Russell, who had spent two to three years as a killer, Peter's combat experience was as blank as a piece of paper.

After playing with Peter like a master inspecting his apprentice's progress for more than ten minutes, Russell decided to end this battle, the result of which had been predetermined from the start.

After parrying Peter's punch, Russell approached him closely, blocked Peter's spinning kick, and punched him in the head once again, causing Peter to intimately meet the ground.

This time, he used a bit more force.

"All right, let's end it here for now!" Russell said to Peter, extending his right hand to help him up.

"Okay," Peter replied, swaying slightly and feeling a bit dizzy.

After checking Peter's learning progress over the past few days, the three of them went to the cafeteria and enjoyed the cuisine prepared by the robot chef.

After the meal, Russell went to the open-air balcony of the bedroom alone and resumed the "sunbathing" he had been interrupted from in the morning.

Feeling the strengthening effect of the sunlight on himself, Russell, lying on the sofa, wore a satisfied smile.

As the saying goes, a full stomach makes for a happy heart.

After sunbathing on the sofa for over an hour, Russell suddenly felt a bit homesick for Gwen.

Speaking of which, he hadn't seen Gwen for quite a few days.

Unlike Kara, who occasionally appeared at the Octopus Monster headquarters, Gwen rarely came to the company.

Unless Russell hadn't visited her for a long time, Gwen wouldn't actively go to Russell's office in her Spider-Woman outfit.
