Ch. 265 Whetting Wanda's Body

Although not entirely convinced, Pietro eventually accepted the fact that he lost to Russell in terms of speed.

This wasn't because Russell deliberately tripped him, but because Russell effortlessly caught up to him as he ran at full speed.

While he had argued earlier that his full speed was different, in reality, he had already reached the fastest speed he could achieve at that moment. Although he could push himself further to increase his speed slightly, the margin for improvement was limited. With that, Russell let go of Pietro and casually brushed the leaves and dust off him. "Let's go; Wanda is still waiting for us," Russell said to Pietro.

Within seconds, he and Pietro reappeared within Wanda's line of sight.

Although Wanda hadn't witnessed the final outcome, she accurately guessed the result based on Pietro's expression. "Before we return to New York, there's one more place to visit," Russell informed Pietro and Wanda.

When Pietro and Wanda looked at him with puzzled expressions, Russell raised his right hand, retrieved the ring from the system space, and, in their presence, cast a teleportation spell.

A shimmering golden portal quickly materialized before them.

Observing this scientifically inexplicable portal, Wanda and Pietro couldn't help but show expressions of surprise. They had thought they understood Russell well, knowing his various superpowers. However, they had been mistaken.

Like others who had witnessed the portals, Wanda and Pietro also mistook Russell's current use of portal magic for a superpower. Seeing the perplexed expressions on their faces, Russell chuckled and said, "Let me tell you a secret. I'm not just a superpowered individual; I'm also a sorcerer."

"This portal is not a superpower; it's magic."

After hearing his explanation, Wanda and Pietro looked even more baffled. Although Wanda's extraordinary abilities included the incredibly potent Chaos Magic, their knowledge of magic was limited to movies, games, and mythology.

Russell didn't elaborate further and entered the portal first, returning to Baron Strucker's castle. Seeing him enter the portal unharmed, Wanda and Pietro followed suit, entering this visually spectacular portal.

Unlike when they left, upon their return to the castle, everything had returned to its usual calm state. No gunfire, no explosions.

"Why did we come back here?" Pietro asked as he gazed at the bodies of Baron Strucker and his men.

"While Strucker's research may not be exceptionally advanced, it still holds some value," Russell explained as he pulled out the Endosymbiotic Battle Armor, which had been unused for a long time, from the system space. "Do you want Strucker's research findings?" Pietro continued to inquire.

"Exactly!"

"While Strucker's research findings are limited, it doesn't mean that his research data is worthless," Russell elaborated patiently. "Since you've investigated me, you should know that the Octopus Monster Laboratory was developing enhancement serums."

"Strucker's research findings might further improve the laboratory's enhancement serum."

Russell explained patiently, instructing No. 3, who had taken control of the Endosymbiotic Battle Armor, to begin collecting Baron Strucker's research data.

Among Baron Strucker's Hydra faction, Wanda and Pietro were undoubtedly the most valuable assets. However, that didn't mean there weren't other valuable items within Baron Strucker's Hydra faction. Data and results from other experiments, research equipment, and funds, among other things, were equally valuable.

Killing Baron Strucker and taking Wanda and Pietro away weren't Russell's sole objectives. Although he wasn't particularly in need of money right now, no one would complain about having too much.

"Is there anything you want to take with you?" After instructing No. 3 to collect data and handing over command of the White Zetsu soldiers to No. 3, Russell turned to Wanda and Pietro.

"Nothing," Pietro quickly replied.

"In that case, let's head back!" Russell said as he once again cast the teleportation spell.

A dazzling golden portal quickly formed, revealing the view of the headquarters of the Justice League on the other side.

"Let's go!" After casting the portal spell, Russell walked into it first. Wanda and Pietro exchanged glances and then followed Russell into the portal.

After returning from Baron Strucker's castle, Russell brought Wanda and Pietro to the living room.

In addition to that, he had No. 3 notify Diana, Hulk, and Skye, who were currently in the headquarters.

Russell and Diana sat together, while Wanda and Pietro sat across from them. Hulk and Skye each had their own couch and were watching Wanda and Pietro with curiosity.

"Wanda and Pietro are twins, and they will also become members of the Justice League," Russell briefly introduced Wanda and Pietro to Diana and the others.

Although Russell's habit of bringing people back sporadically had become routine for Diana and Hulk, they were no longer surprised.

"They don't look like twins!" Hulk grumbled.

"Not all twins look identical," Diana explained before Russell could respond. Although she had only recently joined the Justice League, she got along well with Hulk, and he quite liked Skye. For some reason, Hulk felt that Skye had a similar aura to Natasha.

"Pietro's superpower is super speed, and Wanda's superpower is a bit more complex, currently manifesting as telekinesis and telepathy," Russell explained briefly to help Diana and the others understand Wanda and Pietro better.

After he finished speaking, Diana gave Wanda a peculiar look. Although she had never heard of Wanda and Pietro before, she was quite familiar with Russell.

The fact that Russell used the word "complex" to describe Wanda's superpower indicated that it was extraordinary.

"If you've already thought of their superhero aliases, when do you plan to arrange their induction ceremony into the Justice League?" Diana asked again.

After a game of intense chess with Russell, Diana lay next to him on the bed, chatting casually.

"Why do you want Wanda and Pietro to join the Justice League?" Diana lay on her side next to Russell, her fingers tracing circles on his chest.

"It's simple; I want to help them because they have a difficult background, and they have potential that can enhance the Justice League's strength," Russell replied casually.

Although he had some thoughts about Wanda, he wasn't foolish enough to mention his unhealthy thoughts immediately after finishing a game of chess with Diana.

"Mr. Bradley, don't you think your appetite is getting larger and larger?" Diana asked, her tone turning serious.

"First, there was Gwen and Kara, and now there's Skye and Wanda. Not to mention Natasha, how many targets do you have?" Diana's tone was stern, although Russell knew she wasn't genuinely angry.

"Don't worry; there aren't many left!" Russell replied calmly.

While there were still a few female heroes he hadn't encountered, he was primarily interested in Natasha, Gwen, Wanda, and others who he had already met. Even if there were more in the future, the number wouldn't be significant.

"If you continue with this attitude, you'll get into trouble with women sooner or later!" Diana warned, her tone still serious.

"Your concern is touching, but with you around, you won't let me get into trouble, will you?" Russell caressed Diana's slender shoulders and smiled.

"Hmph!" Diana responded with a huff.

Then, she rested her head on Russell's chest.

The next day, in the morning, after breakfast in the dining room, Russell called Wanda and Pietro into his study.

"Are you getting used to your accommodations?" Russell asked Wanda and Pietro.

"It's okay; the environment here is pretty good, except for your preference for using robots as servants!" Pietro quickly replied.

Intelligent robots capable of sparking a technological revolution outside were merely serving as daily helpers within the Justice League headquarters. Although Pietro knew Russell had substantial wealth, he hadn't expected Russell to be so extravagant.

"The Justice League has many secrets, and using humans as servants could potentially lead to leaks," Russell explained calmly. "In this regard, robots are more reliable than humans."

"I won't dwell on that for now. Why did you call us here?" Pietro continued to ask.

"It's simple; I want to conduct some tests and examinations related to your abilities," Russell said nonchalantly. "Baron Strucker has some of your test and examination data, but he wasn't a superpowered individual, so he couldn't conduct detailed tests."

"If you don't mind, I'll have No. 3 recheck and retest your superpowers and then help you develop new training plans."

Russell's tone was calm as he spoke.

To ordinary people, Wanda and Pietro's superpowers were already very powerful. However, when assessed by the standards of superpowered individuals, they were still rookies. Not to mention comparing them to Russell and Diana, even Hulk surpassed them significantly in this regard.

These weren't his primary cards, which only Diana and Kara possessed. He placed the bank cards in front of Wanda and Pietro and continued, "This might be your first time in New York. Enjoy the beauty of the city!"
