The Walking Dead 4X12 RAW REACTION *PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION***
Added 2025-05-21 03:20:34 +0000 UTCSo unfortunately the reaction for this episode froze several times during the recording process. The audio is still in tact but the video either glitches or completely freezes in various sections throughout the video.
My plan is to combine this one with the 4X13 episode for the final edit but I just wanted to give those who are interested access to the raw footage from this reaction.
Sorry for the mishap and catch you guys on the next upload!

* In the golf club Beth is wearing her new yellow polo shirt and white cardigan. Daryl hits walker blood all over her cardigan. In the next scene she takes the cardigan off and the t-shirt underneath, which was covered by the cardigan, has blood all over it. Back in the forest after this the shirt is clean again. * In the scene where Daryl takes on the incoming walkers, there are some shots of him killing the walker with his backpack on and other shots of him killing walkers without his backpack on.

2025-11-07 00:10:00 +0000 UTC* The title of the episode, "Still", refers to Daryl and Beth's drunken moonshine confessions, as well as the discovery of the moonshine still. * The episode's exact runtime is 00:43:09. * On the Talking Dead, it was revealed that the hanging walkers in the club were killed by the staff of the club during a "class struggle". * The song that plays during the ending scene is "Up the Wolves" by The Mountain Goats. * This episode features the fewest number of actors thus far in The Walking Dead * This is also the only episode to feature no guest actors. * This is the first episode to feature only two main cast members. * This is the first episode to feature no characters with comic counterparts, having Daryl and Beth as the only characters to appear. * Emily Kinney (Beth) and Norman Reedus (Daryl) confirmed that the snake they were eating during shooting was actually eel. Norman had cut off the rattle from the snake during shooting and gave it to Andrew Lincoln (Rick) * At the country club, Beth picks up a spoon with Washington, D.C. decorated on it, hinting at the group's future journey to the location, and also the fact that Beth was not present in that storyline. * This episode is a posthumous dedication to Sarah Elizabeth Jones, a camera operator killed in an accident during the filming of Midnight Rider in 2014. * According to Denise Huth, the photos of the country club's presidents are staff that work on the show. * As revealed on Talking Dead, John Sanders, the prop master, was one of the faces that Daryl was throwing the darts at. * An easter egg to a character from Breaking Bad, Jesse Pinkman, was added in this episode, when Daryl, and Beth engaged in the conversation on the porch, Daryl recalled his experience with Merle's dealer, "...a janky little white guy. Tweaker. One day we were at his house. Watching TV, watching this show. Merle was talking about all this dumb stuff about it. Turns out it was the tweaker's kid's favorite show. He never sees this kid, so he felt guilty about it or somethin'. He pulls a gun, sticks it right here. He says, "I'm gonna kill you, bitch!"." * This is the first episode of Season 4 to feature no deaths.

2025-11-07 00:09:39 +0000 UTCIf the moonshine is made incorrectly or with bad equipment it will create methanol instead of ethanol. Methanol is toxic and can cause blindness and death. It's very rare today but it does happen. Turkey had a lot of deaths and hospitalizations at the beginning of this year because of bootleg alcohol

2025-06-05 06:31:30 +0000 UTCI think Beth wanted to drink because she is painfully aware of how short life is and it was one of the things she never did before that could be done. You saying she doesn't even know what it tastes like is a perfect example of why she would want a drink. Sort of taking back some control over her life When I was 15 I drank some Peach Schnapps and was messed up. I was so sick the next day that I still refuse to drink the stuff 33 years later.

2025-06-05 06:09:11 +0000 UTCNot Daryl being 60% Merle drinking alcohol 🤣😂

2025-05-24 18:57:38 +0000 UTCThere is a good reason why Daryl didn't want to drink. He is obviously an angry drunk. He needed to let out his grief, anger and frustration. The only thing is that it often finds a target and it is usually the person in the room.

2025-05-24 14:36:09 +0000 UTCI get that this episode isn’t packed with action, but it’s honestly one of the most important ones when it comes to character development—especially for Daryl and Beth. A bit disappointing to watch you talk over half the episode. I really encourage y’all to go back and give it a proper watch and listen. There’s so much emotional depth here that’s easy to miss if you're not fully tuned in. Beth wasn’t saying Michonne, Maggie, or Carol were dead. She was saying she’s not like them. She’s not the hardened warrior or survivalist—and she knows that. But she’s still here. She survived the fall of the farm, the prison, the loss of her mother and father. But when she looked at Daryl, she saw someone who had already decided she was just “another dead girl.” That moment was about Beth claiming her own worth—and trying to get Daryl to see it, too. Beth saw Daryl crumbling under the weight of his guilt and pain. She recognized it because she’d been there. That’s why she pushed for something as simple and seemingly out-of-place as getting a drink—it wasn’t really about the alcohol. It was about connection, about reclaiming a piece of normalcy, and giving Daryl a reason to open up. That “side quest” was her way of breaking down the walls he was rebuilding around himself. Daryl’s breakdown was the emotional payoff of everything that had been simmering beneath the surface. He blamed himself for the Governor’s return, for Hershel’s death, for the destruction of the prison. He had stopped looking, told Michonne to let it go—and then it all came crashing down. He was spiraling, retreating inward the same way Michonne almost did. But Beth didn’t let him. She pulled him back from that edge—not by force, but by empathy. That was her strength. The final moment, burning down the house, was both cathartic and symbolic. That house resembled the one Daryl grew up in. It carried the weight of his childhood trauma. By burning it, they were both choosing not to let the past define them anymore.

2025-05-23 12:15:49 +0000 UTCI'm really glad y'all talked through 99.9% of the dialog this ep. I honestly hate hearing about backstory and seeing character development

2025-05-22 04:12:17 +0000 UTCThe burning of the house, and them flipping it off before leaving, wasnt them being “childish”, I think it was supposed to be symbolic, to saying F the ugliness. Especially how in this episode they talked about Darryl’s rough past and childhood, and his dad and living situation and his livelihood. It was all very ugly, the way they said how the world is ugly after the turn of the apocalypse. Burning the house and flipping it off is like a metaphor of saying F that, goodbye, good riddance. It’s catharsis, not immaturity. And maybe not realistic or the best choice for survival but I mean it’s still a show and theres plenty of plot holes that happen lol. But there were bigger meanings of symbolism within this episode rather than them just being annoying.

2025-05-22 01:34:54 +0000 UTCBeth missed out on her teenage years of doing random things but she needs to man up and realize she needs to protect herself and people around her. Carl is smaller than her and he out here with bodies.

2025-05-21 18:08:50 +0000 UTCBeth was very annoying this episode. She wants to get drunk when she should have been thinking how to survive to the next day. She was right she definitely ain't no Michonne Maggie or Carol. They wasn't out there trying to get drunk, Michonne was thinking about food and supplies, Carol was saving Judith Lizzie and Mika from walkers and Maggie was looking for Glenn. I'm glad Daryl went off on Beth made her realized that this is serious and no time to be fooling around. Yeah Beth was about 16 when we met her and we've been in the apocalypse for almost 2 years now. So she's about 18 years old at this point. Adison Jimmy from the farm was Beth's 1st boyfriend. I was able to enjoy the reaction even with the glitches.

2025-05-21 17:49:24 +0000 UTCThis episode hit me hard when it aired. I felt Daryl's shame and his pain as to what happened at the prison. The revelation he was 'nothing' before the apocalypse - just wondering around with Merle - is SAD. However, Beth is right, he was made for this new reality. I also think he'll be the last man standing.

2025-05-21 15:25:14 +0000 UTCThis episode made So many delusional Daryl fangirls want Daryl and Beth together, but he only looks at Beth as a younger sister.

2025-05-21 13:04:42 +0000 UTCNorman Reedus (Daryl) actually said in an Interview that “snake” they ate was actually Eel meat, and he said it tasted terrible and was super tough to eat.

2025-05-21 13:01:32 +0000 UTCDarryl's back story, his guilt over giving up the search for the Gov and convincing Michonne it was useless to keep searching, the loss of Hershel, of maybe everyone, even missing his bro - my heart breaks for him. Burning down the cabin was about letting go of his messed up childhood. Beth gave that gift to him.
EliG
2025-05-21 13:00:05 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite episodes. Beth is about 18 here. Some say “jinky little white guy” was Jesse from BB. It wasn’t. He had no kids he was neglecting and Daryl never left Georgia so he couldn’t have randomly been in New Mexico. Also it is theorized that a class-based mutiny happened at the country club early on in the apocalypse.

2025-05-21 05:34:49 +0000 UTCI also believe he has empathy for kids especially ones from abusive families, he grew up with a dad who hit him and his mama, he grew to love Carol and wanted to find her little girl who also in a way represented himself.

2025-05-21 04:23:21 +0000 UTCI personally believe Daryl was sad after Sophia was found in the barn because the one thing he believed he was good at failed him in the end while thinking his brother was gone for good or dead. He grew up having to know how to hunt and yet the person he was hunting was at the farm. I believe him finding Sophia was his way of proving that he alone is capable of everything Merle and his father taught him about hunting, the thing he believed he was great at but he failed in that instance.

2025-05-21 04:17:53 +0000 UTCThe 'Jenky little white guy' in daryl's story is jesse from breaking bad. The blue crystals in meryl's 'med' bag (that they got the meds for t-dogs arm from) was Walter's stuff. And the car Glenn drove back to camp from Atlanta was the same as the one from breaking bad, too. - amc went through an Easter egg phase

2025-05-21 03:31:13 +0000 UTCExplanation that the showrunner gave for that Walker being able to rip Dale open in the time that they had been a walker they had been grabbing and scratching at things long enough to file down the tips of their fingers so the skin was basically gone and the bones were like jagged knives
