Only because I consider the introduction to Negan to be back at Hill Top or anytime we heard his name, not when we actually met him. We had an expectation of who he was episodes before he came onscreen. King Ezekiel just popped up on us with his tiger. 😂

The song the chorus was singing is a Bob Dylan song from 1963 called Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright. I will say that you all are crazy accurate and fast with most of your predictions on situations. The first time I watched this series I lost, especially when new characters were introduced. However I would not say Ezekiel is a level headed version of Rick. If anything he is too scared to stand up to the Saviors or have the delusional world image he created shattered for his people which is why he keeps it a secret from the rest of the Kingdom. Looking forward to catching up on these today. Cheers!

IF we had to lose Glenn, they are some of the only characters on the show I'd put in his place as far as you can love them/root for them the same way.

Best not the Alive be Dead.” It brings to my mind the vision of The Valley of Dry Bones described by the prophet, Ezekiel, in his book, 37:1-14. I’m happy that you’re enjoying this introduction to The Kingdom and its people. It’s definitely a palate cleanser after the horror show of the previous two episodes. I particularly enjoy the symbolism in this episode. The Greek myth of Persephone and the pomegranate (she spends part of her time in Hades and the rest at home on earth with her mother, representing Autumn & Winter versus Spring and Summer, similar to Carol being “here” and “not here”). The Hindu goddess, Shiva, who is the destroyer but only as a step towards reclamation and creation. Diana, the Archer, the Roman goddess of the hunt, and The Kingdom’s Diane, both strong, feminine warriors who carry a bow. I just love the writing, the characters and the layers. So far we now know Negan have the hilltop the kingdom and now Alexandria under his thumb, is there any other communities out there he have under his thumb also? After the last episode it was nice to get away from Negan and the depression, I mean I know Negan was apart of this episode but it wasn't so bad, because it was just his people.

But during my re-watch with you guys, I realized it’s exactly what was needed: a moment to breathe, something lighter and more hopeful to break the tension and offer a bit of distraction. Like I’ve said before, even though I started enjoying the show less after the introduction of the Saviors and that N*gan guy, one thing I do love is getting to explore other communities. Seeing how different people live and how the world expands beyond just our main group. Out of all the leaders we’ve met so far, King Ezekiel might actually be my favorite, even more than Rick. I’ve just never connected with Rick the way others do. But Ezekiel? He brings something different. This episode really highlights the stark contrast between King Ezekiel and someone like the Governor. And I loved how you guys pointed out the way Ezekiel "overdoes" the good in the same way Negan "overdoes" the bad. That was such a great observation. I’ll end by saying this might be one of the best post-show discussions you’ve had so far. Thank you for bringing Osafa into the mix. He was a great addition. The three of you really work well together.

He seems more like that dude that that comes to work ready to go home before he even clocks in lol. Like he just wants to make his quota and go home. Especially when his subordinates making his job more difficult. Don't invite me out for happy hour afterwards or nothing. Don't knock on my door unless it's important. I'm going home lol. Gavin and Ezekiel seem to have some level of respect in their dealings, at least. They got a routine, get in and out, none of the extra talking, and I'll see ya next week. They would have been fine if it wasn't for the long haired goofy. If I had to deal with a Savior leader directly for these drop-offs, I'd pick him, so far...

After having an abusive husband and where she is in this apocalyptic life the simplicity of this symbiotic relationship works for her. He is likely a widower and it also works for him. Everything does not have to be so calculated or so malignantly viewed.

All of the wild stuff that's happening in the show had already been written in the comics.

I agree with what Brandon said; it's as if the writers started going in a Game of Thrones direction, introducing a lot of new characters. GoT's popularity was rising above TWD's. I know these characters are in the book. Enjoy the Kingdom.

I think I stopped watching for awhile. Glenn was one of my favorites. And he was going to be a dad! That fantasy meal scene (with Glenn holding a toddler) broke my heart.
