Yeah it could have also been budget related but it was also just part of Ezekiel's character arc and very important for him as a character, since according to Khary Payton, she was "a symbol and embodiment of the Kingdom itself" so he really did lose everything here

Ezekiel was giving up and said he was just a guy who found and then BOOM, here come Shiva. I believe it was to be seen as Shiva sacrificing herself for the kingdom and letting that be a moment of okay it’s become a reality and you need to keep going bc I served my purpose you haven’t quite “ cleared” yet you have more time at getting a chance to be free again.

Jeffrey Dalmer dude gave me the ick. The verbal diarrhea that spewed from his malicious mouth was heinous. Zeke was playacting was for a good cause and ultimately helped a community to survive the apocalypse. He gave them a fantasy to believe in. It gave them hope. Zeke established an organized thriving community for good and Negan did his for control and enslavement. JD Negan is an evil vile hater 😒 and is a by product of Negan's rule.

When this 1st aired I cried over Shiva more than I did Daniel, and he was the 1st 1 we met from the Kingdom. The question now how is Ezekiel gonna go on without his trusted Girl by his side? Yeah the saviors is all about themselves, willing to sacrifice their own to get the job done. They need to change their name from saviors to don't care. I was dreading this episode but I got through it.

2025-08-28 21:28:15 +0000 UTCA lot of people seem to miss the racism of the “Jeffrey Dahmer” Savior. When he smears blood on Ezekiel’s face like “war paint,” he’s essentially calling him a savage rather than a king. The fact that this happens during war makes it even more pointed.

2025-08-27 00:07:28 +0000 UTCRip Shiva... it cost them a lot of money every time Shiva made an appearance so they had to get rid of her... but in their world I feel soooo bad for the king... he lost all his people then he lost his beloved Shiva... he wanted to sacrifice himself because he realized his people sacrificed themselves for him thinking he's really a king... he left with hundreds of people and Shiva and only 3 came back... he's about to shut all the way down 😢

Her death was less about how many walkers there were and more about Ezekial losing his final symbol of power. Shiva's death makes more sense if you see it as instinct and trauma colliding: tigers are wired to kill living prey, not rotting flesh that bites back without fear, so she hesitated after the first zombie; the stench repelled her, the behavior confused her, and past trauma from being injured and saved from walkers by Ezekial at the beginning of the apocalypse resurfaced. Layer that with the show's need for symbolism and budget limits, and her death reads less as "a tiger lost to 5 zombies" and more as a tragic full-circle sacrifice.
