The act of sacrificing (like in this episode) are not. Also marvel Thor is nothing like the religion Thor. I know you are righteous and Godly men but can we try to be respectful of other religions? 2025-08-27 17:22:03 +0000 UTCAlso in the context of this show (I’m not sure if it’s canon to actual Norse belief) but the whole thing with why mostly the dudes when being sacrificed or die in the name of Odin seem to have little to no reaction when being basically sliced open, is because those that don’t utter a noise when it’s happening will be worthy of Valhalla. Those that scream or cry or make a bunch of noise are considered unworthy and sent to the Norse underworld (Hel/Helheim) which isn’t always for the bad or evil souls. The sick and the old are sent there as well. It’s almost like a purgatory if I’m remembering right.

Although the human sacrifice aspect has definitely fallen to the wayside if not outlawed (at least on paper), it still can happen. Met a few here in America and there are YouTubers that educate people on Norse Paganism and Neo-Norse Paganism. Same with any other forms of Pagans. Theres videos for every flavor of religion new or old.
