The Curious Disappearance of Jennifer Devere

Neave is impaled and then stabbed and then brutally disembowelled - and there's some treats in store for fans of feet and/or tights.

Neave is amazing as Jennifer Devere, a young writer from a wealthy family. Set in the 70s, she is ambitious and driven and is desperate to exploit the rising interest in true crime and urban legends. She is touring the country, visiting the villages and towns where some awful crimes have been carried out., collecting stories and photographs for her book. 

We join Jennifer as she passes through the town of Killingholme - although no major crimes have been recorded here, she notices the large number of missing persons posters and decides to investigate. Some residents tell her about a local bogeyman who haunts the run-down warehouse district on the edge of town. Jennifer knows it will be nothing but she knows she can link the missing people with the local legend and sell more books. 

She goes to the warehouse district and looks around. She manages to gain access to one of them and takes some photographs. She makes a shocking discovery - but instead of running, she pauses to take a photo ... a decision that will cost her dearly. 

I hope you patrons like this stabbing. It was so much fun to make. I've pushed forward the impalement effect so that we see the blade come through the body - we've done this all with practical ex and editing. We rigged some tubes up and squirted some blood from Neave's belly - it came out really fast though, so do keep an eye out for it 😂😂.

I've tried a slightly different way of setting the story up - so let me know if it works or not. I've been watching a lot of Giallo films recently and I think that's fairly obvious watching this back!!

This is the first official outing for the Bankside Ripper. I need to get him some new clothes, so he doesn't look too much like all the other masked killers I've filmed 😂😂I've actually already shot the sequel for this - Finding Jennifer (working title) which is due for release later this month. The Bankside Ripper stories have evolved from the Wrong Place, Wrong Time archive photosets. A lot of patrons really enjoyed those photosets but I think everyone would have loved some full films - so this is me circling back to explore that. 

Neave's performance is outstanding and she really lead the way on all the feet shots in this film. I hope you feet fans enjoy all the extra shots!!
