Johnath was walking around looking for some food, specifically for any delicious flora this place might have, but seeing as she was walking through what was basically a desert, it seemed she was going to find any.
Titan Green started to sound sad inside her head, and Johnath patted herself on the head and told her not to worry, that they’d find something to eat soon enough. Titan Green cheered up and told Johnath that she believed in her to find the best food.
The two continued on their way until the wind started to pick up. At first it wasn’t anything special, not at first, but as they continued to walk, there was a hint of something in the wind that smelled really good.
When the smell got stronger, Titan Green got really excited and told Johnath that the smell was food. Johnath was confused, and while she could smell it, it didn’t smell like food to her. Titan Green seemed disappointed and asked Johnath to trust her.
Johnath smiled and said she’d always trust her. She then turned and followed the scent until they came across a large glass dome. The dome had several pieces missing and was cracked all over, and it had a ton of trees growing out of it.
Johnath walked right up to the glass and looked down. It was a bit overgrown, but below them seemed to be some sort of garden or perhaps a greenhouse. Johnath asked if the food Titan Green wanted was in there.
Titan Green got excited and said it was. Johnath sighed as she realized that being merged with Titan Green meant she’d have to eat plants now. Titan Green laughed and said it wasn’t that bad and Johnath would really enjoy it.
Johnath got a bit embarrassed and apologized for thinking that; she’s still not used to being connected like this. Titan Green said it was okay and that she often thought the things Johnath ate were strange and gross.
The two shared a laugh and then looked for the safest way down into the garden. None of the sections that had broken glass to pass through had anything she could use to get down; however, one spot had a tree pressed against it, It was just surrounded by the glass dome.
Titan Green suggested Johnath spit gas on the glass to dissolve it. Johnath snapped her fingers and said that was a great idea. Johnath got close to the glass, clenched her fists, and then began to shoot the corrosive gas out of her mouth.
The glass was thick, so it took a lot to dissolve it. Johnath was standing there spewing the gas out of her for nearly five minutes before a hole big enough for her to get through was created. Once it was safe to go through, she did and grabbed onto the tree.
She then slowly climbed down the tree until she reached the garden floor. Johnath then took a look around; there were a ton of plants, some Johnath knew and some she didn’t. None of them seemed like food to her, so she asked Johnath what was best.
Titan Green asked Johnath to walk around and look at things, and she’d let her know. Johnath nodded and started to explore the garden. The first thing Johnath found was something with pointy purple leaves.
Johnath asked about it, but Titan Green said it was toxic. Johnath let go of it quickly and gulped. Johnath looked below the plant, hoping there was some sort of sign with a name and info about it since this was a garden and that kind of thing was normal.
The plant was growing over it, but there was a sign, though it was a bit faded and only half the name was visible. What Johnath could make out was Newigen, and the only info it had that was still visible was that it was edible and was supposed to taste like mint.
Of course, the image on the sign looked nothing like the purple plant here, so chances are that plant died long ago and this plant, whether here because it was supposed to be or brought in by an anomaly, has taken over.
Johnath shook her head and said the signs here likely weren’t very reliable and that Titan Green’s instincts were a better thing to rely on. So Johnath wiped her hand off on some glass and continued looking at plants.
The next thing they found had small pink leaves that were round and had dark red stems. Johnath avoided touching it this time and looked at the sign. The sign was very faded; it had no name or info, but the image looked like the plant in front of her, so at least there was that.
Johnath asked about the plant, and Titan Green was quiet for a minute but then admitted they were edible and that she had tried them before, but they were one of the worst things she’d ever eaten, worse than beetle dung.
Johnath was skeptical that a plant could taste so bad, and Titan Green laughed and dared Johnath to try it then. Johnath shrugged and pulled one of the leaves off and stuck it in her mouth, and she instantly regretted it.
Titan Green was right; it tasted like beetle dung. Johnath spit it out and started gagging. She could also tell Titan Green wasn’t very happy and was realizing she forgot they were linked, so Johnath tasting it meant she could also taste it.
Once Johnath stopped gagging, she told Titan Green she was right, and she’d never doubt anything she says when it comes to plants. Titan Green was happy to hear that and said it was best that way, as she didn’t ever want to taste that again.
The two walked around some more before Titan Green found something really good. It was a plant with long black leaves and bits of orange sparkles flowing throughout it. Johnath looked and found a sign on the ground. It was broken and completely faded.
So there was no info about it, but from the happy sounds Johnath was hearing from Titan Green and how it felt as though she was drooling inside her head, Johnath had a feeling this was what Titan Green wanted to eat.
Titan Green said it was the best plant, and it made her taste buds dance every time she ate it. She then started begging Johnath to eat it and to eat it all since there was so much. Johnath let out an awkward laugh and said she’d eat it, as much as she could.
She pulled a leaf off and stuck the end of it in her mouth. She wasn’t sure it would taste all that great to her since she wasn’t really into eating plants, but it seems instead of her old taste buds, she now has Titan Greens, and she was right; this plant was the best-tasting thing ever.
Johnath quickly ate the first piece and grabbed four more and did the same. Titan Green was making happy noises inside Johnath's head, and soon enough Johnath had eaten half the plant and filled them both up.
Not knowing how long they’d be here, Johnath took the rest of it and rolled it up and slipped it in a small spot she had between her body and its outer shell. She then looked towards what was supposed to be the normal entrance into her, one that led further into the facility.
Johnath pointed towards the exit and said now that they were full, it was time to head on out of here. Titan Green agreed, and the two started their new mission: to find the main center of Zeta-13 and claim it for their own, which they immediately found out would be hard.
It had been too quiet up until now, and they should have known better. As soon as they stepped out of the garden, an anomaly happened right in front of them. A portal of sorts opened up, and out of it came pouring some sort of gas, a gas that was similar to bug killer spray.
Johnath began to choke and feel like she was being attacked, and she knew they were in danger. She started running away and made it to the next room and slammed the door closed. The door being closed didn’t stop all the spray from coming in but slowed it down by a significant amount.
It was going to come in at some point if the anomaly kept that portal open. Johnath started to walk through the corridor she found herself in. A simple, long hallway made completely of metal, quite normal for this sort of place.
Well, it seemed the anomalies weren't done with her, and yet another one happened. This time it not only made the metal of the hallway magnetic, but it also made it so it was attracted to the other side of it, while making its intensity stronger and stronger by the second.
Johnath realized the hallway itself was about to crush together, and she didn’t want to be in it when that happened. She started a full-on sprint down the hallway, and when she was halfway through, the part of the hallway next to the door she entered from was now crushed together.
Then from the point down the hall, the hallway began to crush together. It caught up to Johnath right as she reached the other door. She jumped, hoping to get to the next room before it got her, but she was slightly too slow.
The room had managed to get her left foot, and it crushed it so much that it came right off. It hurt a lot, and Johnath rolled onto her back and was yelling from the pain, at least for a moment, as it soon went away.
Johnath was then able to sit up and look at her foot, which was when she started to freak out about losing it, but luckily Titan Green was there to calm her down and to remind her that now that they were fused, Johnath should regenerate.
That did calm Johnath down, as knowing her foot would come back was reassuring, but she was still worried. When Titan Green lost a foot a couple of years ago, it took months for it to grow back. Johnath’s foot was much smaller, so she hoped it would be quicker.
However, she wouldn’t know until it happened, and if she were in any other place, she’d be able to sit and wait for it to happen, but inside Zeta-13 and with anomalies that could happen anytime and anyplace, being stuck waiting for a foot to grow back was dangerous, but it’s all she could do now.
