My First Time Wearing Makeup Pt1
It’s been a week since an encounter with Odessa turned me into a girl. Since then, I’ve been doing my best to adapt to this new life, which has had its ups and downs. Lucky for my friends that they don’t remember being guys and don’t have to deal with this.
I suppose it’s also lucky for me that Odessa is so cool. Since she also remembers me being a guy before, she was more than happy to help me out when it comes to learning to be a girl, and today she was teaching me about makeup.
It was Friday afternoon, and she just arrived for what I told my sister was just a normal sleepover, which I guess it is, since girls do this kind of thing at sleepovers, but this was less about gossiping about boys and more about trying to fit in more.

After eating dinner with my sister, Odessa and I headed up to my room. We changed into our pajamas, and she started to pull out all the makeup she had and planned to use to teach me how it worked.
I was a bit overwhelmed by how many things there were. I didn’t realize it was so complicated, but I guess makeup is a lot like art and can be as simple or complex as you want to make it. Once she had everything out, she tossed me a hairbrush.
I asked her why I needed this if we were doing makeup. She rolled her eyes and told me to brush my hair out so she could put it back; that way, my hair isn't in the way while we do that. I turn a bit red and laugh. That did make a lot of sense.

After I brushed out my hair, Odessa gave me a hairband and some bobby pins to use. She then showed me how to use them by using them on herself. I then copied what she did, and she praised me for doing it right.
I smiled and said it was actually nice to have my hair out of my face. I still wasn’t used to having longer hair, and it sometimes drove me wild. She smiled and said that made sense, but that I should get a more feminine haircut, as that would fix it.
I once again get embarrassed. It would help, but I’m still not sure I’m there yet. That’s like a full-time commitment until it grows back, and while makeup is embarrassing as well, at least I can wash it all off afterward.

I thought it was finally time to use makeup, but it turned out it was time to head to the bathroom and wash my face. Odessa said it would help, so I did, and she followed after me. We washed our faces and dried them with a face cloth.
We then ran back to my room and sat down on the floor next to all of Odessa’s stuff. She grabbed a bottle of moisturizer and pumped a bit into her hand before handing it to me. I did the same and watched her to see what I was doing with it.
I suppose it was obvious what we were doing with it, but I really didn’t want to mess it up. So after Odessa put her hands together and rubbed the lotion around, then started to apply it to her face, I began to do the same.

The next thing we did was prime our faces. Not really sure what that means, but we rubbed something all over our face. The first real bit of makeup, at least in my opinion, was the foundation. Odessa put small bits around her face in what looked like a pattern.
She then used a sponge to start blending it in. I was impressed with how it worked; at first it was noticeable, but as she went, it looked natural. I tried to follow what she was doing, but I couldn’t do it well without a mirror.
Luckily she had one, and she set it up on the floor in front of me so I could do it, which was embarrassing. Odessa noticed that and told me not to feel embarrassed about needing the mirror. As most girls use them all the time, including her. I actually felt comforted by that and smiled.

Once I got the foundation right, we moved onto the next thing. Which was a concealer. Odessa said it was supposed to be lighter than your skin tone to make the dark areas brighter and help with high points.
She gave me a concealer brush to use to mix it in, but also told me I could use my finger to mix it in, as long as it’s clean first. I did try the brush, but it didn’t work fully, so I tried using my finger to mix it in like Odessa said, and it seemed to work amazingly.
I take a cloth and clean my finger off and look at Odessa, ready for the next thing and actually really excited about it. I really wasn’t sure at first about learning how to use makeup, but so far I'm warming up to it and having a lot of fun. Not to mention... I already feel... sort of pretty...

With the concealer done, we moved onto using setting powder. Which does what it says; it sets the foundation and concealer, which helps make your overall makeup crease-free and helps it last a lot longer.
Next up was the highlighter, which turns out is not a bright yellow marker. I would have held my face from the embarrassment of that moment if it wouldn't have ruined the makeup I’d already applied.
No, the highlighter just helps create depth by making shadows and highlighted areas.
I guess it’s to help your face not look so flat from all the stuff we put on before. After that was contouring and then adding blush, and with those all on, I have to admit I looked very pretty. Makeup really isn't that bad, but Odessa just said there was more to do.
