Holden, will you and Jen eventually be watching Andor? As much as I am happy you guys are really excited to watch mandalorian, you guys should really not skip Andor. It’s not worth missing.

I thought that this first episode was a serviceable enough premiere. It had some great moments throughout (such as seeing purrgil for the first time in live action). However, the way that these moments were stitched together felt kind of messy to me. I get that the job of the premiere is to set up the story for the season, but I felt like it could have been handled better. From what I have heard, "Chapter 18" is a lot better so I'm still hyped; however, I would be lying if I said that I didn't feel just a bit underwhelmed coming out of this first episode.

Purrgil. Such a fun word, I have nothing to add just... Purrrrrrgil

i feel like this is a three episode story arc. There's a massive pirate ship which will no doubt hold the city of Nevarro hostage leading to The Mandalorians saving the day in Episode 3 once The Mandalorian takes his special bath in the caves of Mandalore something I imagine we'll see in Episode 2. I'm pretty sure we see Mandalorians on Nevarro city in the trailer taking out pirate so that all makes sense now.
Episode 1: Set up after 2 years of adventures (New Mando Enclave, Grogu seeing the Purrgil, Nevarro development, Return of IG-11, Conflict with Pirates etc)
Episode 2: Fixing IG-11 and exploring Mandalore (Bo-Katan could come with us as well)
Episode 3: Pirates take Nevarro hostage with there Battle Ship leading to a conflict between the Pirates and the Mandalorians (Could Bo-Katan call back her stolen fleet?)
If this is the case then I'm fine with this episode set up a lot for a solid story arc. If it was a one off episode I'd be a little "Was that it" but they're clearly building up to a larger storyline. Starting off with a fun simple story arc and then dive into the more complex storyline in the later episodes moving away from what we've seen in the trailer.

Obviously we can't say anything specific but they finally paid of a 12 year old cliff hanger 🤣

Felt like there was alot of "and then" writing. Like and then this happens and then he's here and now he's here. Idk first episode, watched it after thi weeks Bad Batch episode which was really good so maybe I was just to hyped up

Partly because it was a sort catch up episode, nothing major happened compared to S01E01 and S02E01

Thoughts on this episode... I was really surprised at how much I didn't care for this episode, I don't know why tho. Something feels different

The Mandalorians at the start are assholes, letting that kid have long hair. You just know he is gonna be uncomfortable in that helmet 😠

I rescind my complaint about not showing the Purrgil being capable of hyperspace travel.
