At the turn of the month, the next FX edit was voted on: My first collaboration with Microperson/Rose. Since then, I've been working away at it, and am now halfway through rendering character animation for it. I'll preview it once it gets closer to the final look, with an early video preview for Star Patrons.
General Live Action stuff: the current plan is to up the amount of filming I'm doing. This will mean a larger number of clips. Longer clips. Adding POV, roleplay, or plastic figure clips into the mix will allow me to do this without killing me in FX editing. This will likely produce results as early as May.
Star Patrons: (Starting around May.) Better behind-the-scenes. Usually, I do Lens clips, teaser images, off-screen pics and video of edits, stuff like that. This tier is going to start growing a little bit. The first of these is more of the same type of BTS, but now of filming sessions, as those start to get moving again. Part of the idea would be taking more still images and things of that nature, while on set. The second is more exciting, and it is an interview format. So, the idea isn't final, but rather than a single interview video with a model or something of that nature, it would be submitting a question for a model, and having it answered at the next appropriate interval.
As for this month's animation, it is yet to be determined, and I'll be focusing on that starting next week. On the topic of animation...
Monthly mini-animations might be taking a little backseat in May as I start to get deeper into bigger stuff like Shrinking Nightmare S2E4. It's still kind of early, but I'm making some headway on it. It's been a little more challenging than I'd hoped for, so I'm really trying not to get ahead of myself this time... especially because most of the feedback I get is to focus more time on Shrinking Nightmare than on the mini-animations.
Monthly mini-animations (cont.) I've considered cutting down on presentational aspects for the mini-animations. Straight into action scenes without viewer orientation or anything like that... how would you feel about it? Is it worth doing the extra camera angles and edits for mini-animations with little to no story? Cloning myself is also an option, and I'm looking into the budget restrictions. Any other ideas and thoughts are appreciated!
