IMPORTANT: Progress Update: April 27th, 2024

The Pianta Village episode is shaping up to be the biggest video yet, having both my longest script so far, and over 250 gigabytes of raw footage going into it.

You may or may not have noticed, but so far, I’ve made 2 versions of every video, one for Patreon, one for Youtube. I’ve done this primarily to make the Patreon video have more of a personal sign off for the benefit of those watching here, but more recently I’ve done it so I can keep the Patron shoutouts more up-to-date on the Youtube releases. However, as both the videos and the credits grow in scale, this has steadily become a more and more significant task to undertake, especially as it means I need to keep the raw files and resources for 2 videos on my hard drive at any given point.

To be forthright, I’d much rather be focusing that time and effort on the next video, so starting with Pianta Village, the videos that release on Youtube will be identical to the versions on Patreon. I may even begin releasing them as embedded youtube links so you guys can show off with pre-release comments. I definitely like having ad free versions here on Patreon, though, so that’s a decision for the future.

Thank you all so much for all your support! You’re the best, every one of you!

No big deal! Keep up the good work!

Oh that's no big deal, feel free to save yourself the extra encoding time and space! I do longplays of things and sometimes need to edit up to 6-hr-long footage, even just little edit to something that's really quick and I'm letting my computer sit half a day to reencode the video. So I know how even making two mildly-different versions of a video can be SUCH a slog. Not to mention the space requirements yes!

Could you not just export the full video once and then clear all the raw files except those needed the Patreon stuff at the end, then when it comes time for the YT upload just export the updated Patreon stuff on its own and stitch it onto the end of the first exported file in place of how that one ended?
