Catra the Forest Spirit

Catra was young when her mother was regularly visited by her human friend. Her mother's friend was kind and she made her mother happy. Catra was kept hidden, because her mother wanted to keep her safe. It wasn't enough, when one day her friend stopped visiting and an army arrived in her place.
The three kingdoms united to finally destroy the forest and reach the riches believed to be in its centre. The forest was so much damage that Catra's mother did not survive the attack. Catra, as a newly empowered guardian of the forest - filled with the fear and anger of a child - used every bit of her magic to protect the forest from further harm. She used all her magic reserves and slept for many years to recover.

When Catra awoke, she was older and the world had moved on without her. The forest was a fragment of its previous size, but protected by sharp, deadly plants and filled with wild animals dripping with malice. Catra, still afraid and angry, swore to never make her mother's mistakes. She would never trust a human, because all they knew how to do was destroy.
