I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to animation personally, but this style felt reminiscent of things like Dragonball FighterZ or Guilty Gear Xrd, where 3D models are used but they're heavily stylized to seem 2D. Just curious, but whatever you're doing keep it up! :P

2018-06-28 05:27:03 +0000 UTCI use some 3d for reference when I'm doing the initial sketches/drawings to get the poses and proportions right but all of the animation is done in 2d in After Effects. It's a mixture of frame by frame and 2d puppet animation with a few post processing effects thrown on top.
