Poll: Which one is your favourite VN?

Hey eveyone!

It's been a long while since we did a poll here on our Patreon page. With our first game soon to be wrapped up and finished, the team already has one eye on starting plans for our fourth game, which we will begin working on once Sunshine Love is completed.

In the future we'll ask more detailed questions, and find out what it is about our current games that you like/love, whether it be the storylines, the concept, the characters, the taboo aspect (or maybe something else?)

But to kick things off, today we are asking a very simple poll question that we would like you to answer, so we can get more of an idea of which game most people have preferred so far.

NOTE: Whatever game has the most votes doesn't guarantee that the fourth game will be similar or have the same kind of storyline. It's just general feedback for us and also a bit of fun.

Of our three games to date so far, which one is your favourite?

1 - Our first VN 😉

2 - Melody

3 - Sunshine Love

You can choose all three but if you happen to like one more than the other two, then just select the number below for that specific game.

If you would like to give us a specific reason as to why you chose one of these three games as your favourite, then please let us know in the comments section below

I'll try and post up a different question soon.

Have a great day! 🙂

I love me a good "childhood friend" romance, so i had to go with Sunshine Love. Also, as an above poster said, I love how all of the games intertwine in a wider universe of storytelling. As long as you keep that up I'm sure I'll like whatever comes next.

JediMindFreek

I love that all these take place in the MDCU.. or MDSU? Mr Dot's Sexy Universe!

I like the way you have woven the stories into your “Donutistan world” and made them play off of each other. It’s as if you haven’t made three totally separate game stories, but the stories of three different characters in the same ongoing story, and each character’s individual personality is consistent throughout and the way they play off interactions with the other stories. (ie Melody, Georgina, Lucas, etc) I like the way that you can’t have everything all at once. There are instances where you have to choose one path and the choice shuts the door on others. It makes it feel more realistic. At the same time, each story is able to stand on its own.

Melody had the best story with a clear goal of making her a pop/rock star. SL is fun but feels much less plausable. The MC's childhood friend is a bit annoying at times (especially when she's decieving the MC at the begining) and Ashley is downright creepy IMO.

Dave Davidson

My favorite is DMD. That was the first time I came into contact with this type of game. Moreover, I don't know why subscribestar can't pay with China's Bank visa card, so I don't know the outcome so far,:)

猫猫是猫猫

This is a tough one, I liked the MC being a bit older in the first two, but Sunshine Love gives the player so much more freedom than the first two. This is also good because I can't stand the female lead, and I think if the player wasn't left free to pursue other interests I would have stopped playing long ago. That might sound harsh but I think that speaks to the effectiveness of that freedom in attracting a wider audience. I do feel if you decide to make your next game with a similar amount of freedom, it may be worthwhile to break away from having a lead love interest at all. Not that there can't or shouldn't be a female lead in the story, but maybe make the relationship feel a little less like it's something they need to actively avoid if they're not interested. Your writing team has also gotten much better at scoping the project and keeping things concise. As much as I love your first game it feels like it's dragged on too long with some events and twists perhaps getting a little too much screen time while not really moving the plot forward.

A great graphic Novel has to be the perfect balance between, plausible story, great characters and good graphics. I want to be engaged in the story line, care about the characters and have some meaningful choices along the way. So far all three games have managed to do that and you have maintained high standards along the way which is great. Of the three I would rate Sunshine as the most polished product thus far and just pinches top spot. Your first VN though has a vast amount of content which makes it a close second. But MrDot games have all set a high water mark and I am looking forward to future products.

1st VN was my first VN experience so it has a special place. The reunion moment where MC travels to another country is one of my all time favorite moments. But for overall experience I have to go with Melody. The scene where Melody confronts MC’s ex is gold.

Sunshine love is one amazing, story. Every character has their own unique story. The sad part is I'm greedy and want to keep them all. Haram addict, LOL Oh well, I'll just check into rehab when the story is over. :-)

KrazyHorse

Tough call. The first game isn't my cup of tea. Melody is outstanding: first-rate story telling character development, and art. Hard to top. But I have to give SL my vote even though it's incomplete, because, well, shortcake.

AE

Then most crucial job is finishing that one up 😁.

Brandon Moore

It really is a tough question - I went back and ran through Melody again tonight - nothing beats that 1st playthrough and it is a True GEM. Regarding the "first VN" guess I'll always be more into S's than D's - so Sunshine Love is the winner with Melody a close 2nd.

RogueRat

The musician story and Melody's character development, as well as the built-in songs, are very appealing. Perfect title "Melody"

This sounds great! I did not play SL yet because I just discovered you some months ago and my time is limited :/ . But I also like (almost) finished games rather than playing a chapter each 2 or 3 months. That way, I do remeber all the details, characters, plot twists better. This is why I even started with Melody and switched to your first game some time after that. I am also actively delaying playing SL right now, but I am sure I cannot resist that long anymore ;) .

Dennis

I agree with my esteemed colleagues - SUNSHINE LOVE is the Very Best So Far!!

RogueRat

First is the best because of the journey.. keep Elena and throw in all the fine hotties from SL – with Shortcake as the main character – and I could die a happy man. 🥰

Al

Great review. Yeah, we made quite a few mistakes with our first novel, and we try not to make them again in the future ones. I'm surprised you haven't played SL yet :O

MrDots Games

Nope. Still going strong ;)

MrDots Games

I only played your first two novels yet, so I can't say anything about SL. TL;DR: Love the pace (maybe a little(!) faster) and the character-developement. Would want you to inject a little more bad things, though. I like both of your games because of two main reasons, but I am also not that fixed from them because of another reason. The first thing I like very much about your games: You don't rush things and some choices matter (could be more). You start very slow and I like it that the action does not start in the first chapter. Some other games are very unrealistic like "Hey, who are you?" "I'm Mike, let's do it!" "Oh no, only if I can bring my bestie with me!" :D The thing I don't like that much about your first two games is that when the first phase of getting the girl is over, it sometimes gets lenghty. You have some more corruption going, but all of that is done by the MC. All corruptions that might have come from other peaople are dead ends. Like the binocular-guy at the beach, or the stupid brother of the later nicer photographer. They could have had a little more chances and touches before their path ended, maybe groping her or taking some pictures and blackmailing her into undressing before them. I also loved the scene with the camera-shop in the beach area, she could have been a bad girl and undressed - maybe another scene later on where she had to suck in order her pictures will not make it to the front line. But it stopped on all paths way too early. I don't need rape or forced pregnancy or such, just a little more bad world. The second thing I love about your games, especially your first one: I can really get a little emotional with the girls. They are no meat that is used every round, no, they are loveable, have character, are different from each other. They are also strong and have their free will, yet loving and relying on the MC. Even your side characters are lovable! This is why I would also feel bad for the girls if they were a little abused by some other guy, but I would still love the thrill and a little jelousy. Because SL has gotten so much votes, I am curious what the main point of change is. Did you go a little darker, or are there simply more girls to love ;) ?

Dennis

SL is just super great and tremendously made, but I have to take Melody as the best VN. The reason for this is, there is much heartfelt in it, deepen stories, and the posibility to touch real emotion. :) Mr Dot Games, makes great gaming possible.

S.Daug

I have really enjoyed all of them, but the variety of girls in Sunshine Love pushes it to the top.

Mark Nolwendil

I love all the games, but SL is definitely the top one! It reminds me of someone I knew when I was younger, who was also a childhood friend. :)

Daniel Harrison

i really like ashley and that side of the story, but many great charcters

thami

Melody because of the music based theme and more believable storyline…the first game is not for me, and the storyline for SL seems a little far fetched…

GLP2007

Difficult question for sure. But SL for me is number one because of the awesome story.

Albert Nieuwenhuis

I concur Black Angel

Jed Midnight

First game was good loved the story and character development. Still playing through Melody but again loving the story and characters. SL gets the nod though, outstanding story and can't decide which of the ladies I prefer the most. They all have unique charms that capture the imagination.

Pett Brenson

1) 1st VN 2) Sunshine Love 3) Melody Although Sunshine Love is 2nd here in terms of overall quality its definitely number 1

Heavenly Demon

The first one isn’t finished yet is it?

Brandon Moore

Wow! Tough question. But I am going with SL.
