Future Plans
Added 2019-11-20 17:35:38 +0000 UTCI was going to make this post yesterday in celebration of Patron Day, but I was so exhausted after work that I didn't want to do anything but just pass out in bed. So my apologies.
But yeah, let's start off with a big thank you to all the patrons who have supported me these last couple months. I know I say thank you a lot, but it probably can't be said often enough. So thank you! It's nice to know my work stands out so much that you want to support it, but overall it makes me happy to know there's so much support out there for the writing community in general. It's not an exaggeration to say all this erotic fiction goodness is only possible because you fans support us! Most days I still feel pretty new to the smut game, but I must be doing something right if people keep reading my stuff.
Speaking of which, I'm always brainstorming new ideas to not only improve this Patreon but also interact with my supportive fans. Not all of them are winners, but I've got a few experiments I'm looking forward to trying as we head into 2020.
1) Discord: A lot of content creators have dedicated fan servers, and while I've not been entirely sold on the idea in the past, Discord seems like the best, most immediate way of interacting with my fans. It would of course be open for anyone to join, but Patreon supporters would naturally get their own special title/rank on the server. This has a lot of advantages, mostly in keeping track of and communicating with all my patrons (especially since Patreon's messaging system sucks dick), which is very important to me.
There's a lot of other advantages that having an official Punished Varmint Discord would bring. The ability to instantly communicate with any of you, get feedback on my work, conversations about any story ideas I might be sitting on, channels for posting and sharing other content creators, and so on. I don't expect it to be super populated, but then again I much prefer a smaller more intimate fan base anyways rather than something sprawling and impersonal. Again, as I stated in my previous post, I'm not really doing this for the money, so sheer numbers aren't a big deal anyways.
2) Streaming: Livestreaming prompts is an idea that's been catching on lately among writers, and like the Discord idea above it's something I've held back on simply due to assumed lack of interest. Then again, it probably would be more fun to stream for only 2-5 people anyways, so I really don't have any solid reason NOT to do it other than time constraints.
That just leaves the sheer logistics of how each stream will work. What would be the word count limit of prompts? How many prompts can viewers request? What day and time will the stream be? How much will I charge for prompts? Well, for the time being I likely won't charge any money for prompts. Donations of course would be welcome, but the main incentive for me to stream would be live interaction with fans, not making money. I'd like these sessions to be fun little hangout moments where we can chat, talk about stories/characters/fandoms, and just enjoy everyone's company. That sounds fun, right?
Anyway, those are my big ideas for now. If either of them sound interesting, please let me know. My likelihood of moving forward with either Discord or livestreaming depends on how excited people are for them, otherwise I'm likely to just shrug and chalk it up as a no-go. As we get closer to the end of the year and the hectic holiday season, I doubt I'll have the time in my schedule to get either project up and running before January 1st, so your patience is appreciated. But I wanted to let you all know either way what's been brewing in my head lately.
As always, thanks for reading!
