There's no conclusive evidence that this has enhanced any lives beyond what is theoretically permissable by humans natural bodies. Basically, they are a state in which (like cancer) the cells have genes allowing rapid successive splitting. You can only use your own unless sci-fi type tech replaced the genes in the donor cells to match, and even then you have to somehow control how this evenly spreads across the complex human body.
