There is no such thing as a good cop. No police officer has ever joined the force because they believe in justice or shit. They do it because it's one of the cushiest government jobs available, and comes with authority. I'm not saying they're all fucking murderers but they care about you and your rights as any other person in your city. You watch stuff like CSI and believe they are all heroes, busting their brain to solve that murder, or catch that thief while most of what they do is protect the status quo, from anyone including you.
