Bonus #96 - Primitive Upbringings

Hey all,

In this bonus, we talk about mankind's primitive upbringings. Did we come from the apes or monkeys? Listen to find out. Very enlightening.

Thanks,
Jackson

Humans have actually evolved in last couple thousand years. People of tibet have better respiratory systems to survive the high mountain environment, as well as the sea nomads who have been diving for thousands of years and thus have larger lungs and better adaptations for swimming.

Alek Ruberry

The spider monkey Wikipedia page I saw wasn't that bad.

Expression

Did this some out before Tucker Carlson made the segment about how less sexy M&Ms are part of the leftist conspiracy to destroy western civilization? I’m surprised they didn’t mention it here, since it’s great dystopian comedy lol

Andrew how fucking dare you say cars isn’t good fuck you

Frung

I’ve been wondering why there have been so many helicopters around my neighborhood lately lol now I know

Sean Schober

Were those apes escaping the origin of monkeypox

Loubang

The uncanny Valley is probably a result of interactions with other species of human, some of which were cannibals. They all had a human look, but not quite right.

Madao

A lot of cars from the 90s are already appreciating, it just takes twenty or thirty years.

just re-joined on patreon, very excited to hear about some monkey business

crazymisscarly

Guys you dont chose to evolve. Evolution is random mutations and the most competitive mutation wins the survival of the fittest. And we did not come from abes we have a common ancestor

Peter Dickmeiss

I one hundred percent believe Mars made the press release to draw eyes away from the child slavery thing

monke

BTD is a monkey themed series.

TheCircusBoy

viva la monke

Fantastic episode

If you’re scared of rejection try talking to women in your area on social media it makes the rejection have way less of a sting and most women that aren’t interested will just leave u on read

As for the wisdom teeth I think the prevailing theory is our jaws used to be larger and longer and had comfortable room to fit those extra teeth, but with softer, easier diets out jaws have shrunk and now we're trying to cram too many teeth into a smaller space which is why we have such common dental problems including wisdom teeth

Ethan Kelly

Gotta say, that was one cool boat owning monke

Ethan Kelly

Hahaha. In this episode, we learn no one knows anything about evolution.

Once in a while I listen to these on discord and then forget and it’s the scariest de ja vu of all time

Kay

Ok i’m no expert on evolution but god damn this episode 😂 i fucking love you guys

Briflex

Another worm game, Earthworm Jim

N0Rst4TheW1cked

One of the stupidest episodes yet lmao keep up the good work boys

M&M is just doing outrage marketing it’s been talked about it so much more because of this meaningless change

6 is terrible, 4/5 is peak

I lost so many brain cells listening

Dogs are a form of micro-evolution, any selective breeding we do is just a faster form of what nature does with survival being the breeding selector, we select breeding based on things we like in the organism. So we literally have seen evolution, and can control it. A pug, descending from a domesticated wolf, wouldn't survive in the wild because its "natural habitat" is now with a human in a home. Also climate change is technically us forcing evolutionary pressure on species sensitive to climate, albeit on an insanely faster scale than natural evolution can handle. It's called micro-evolution since the species never changed (we consider a beagle and a Chihuahua the same species) and they can still breed. We do this with plants all the time, just look at what corn and watermelons used to look like before we fucked with them. And not even using CRISPR, just breeding.

Dylan Davis

Jackson have you played the Uncharted series?

Alec

Well there was definitely more than one closely related human species, and we liked them enough to mate with them lol, so idk about the uncanny aspect on that

Uncanny feelings could be a leftover instinct from seeing Neanderthals, since they're not homosapien sapien yet look closer to us than other primates.

1:19 am I tripping or did I hear a Runescape sound effect? Is Charlie playing OSRS during the pod again? 🤔🤔🤔

How did no one pick BTD6

Yay

Monke

God damn Andrew, great game pick. Donkey Kong Country 2 slaps

ALL conversations feel forced though

Evolution doesn't have a conscious agenda guys. Going off of Andrew's example, we won't evolve to have stronger necks because its not like people with weak necks won't have children. People choose partners based on more nuanced factors, not just on genetic superiority, so of course incovenient traits that doesnt necessarily impede you from finding a partner will be passed on.

Loxi

Almost at 100 bonuses excluding the prepost ones. Anything special planned?
