I agree with charlie on the point that social media shouldn't be allowed for kids. It should be 18+. Sadly it's a huge market for kids and loads of money, but it should be heavily regulated for kids.

I can't wait until The Official Adcast for the 6th year anniversary and no I am not joking. Also, I don't like the "just turn off your screen, bro" argument because with how integrated social media and the internet have become in the younger generation it's basically telling bullied kids "just stop trying to be normal and shut yourself away from people, bro." In general, a lot of cyberbullying is just in-school bullying following people home where pre-internet you were safe and some people will go far enough to sociopathically try to harass someone off of every platform they're on and it's incredibly fucked up.

No one’s really talking about how Facebook has rounded a ton of young people with the quest and it’s amazing. Game chat is a warzone and I never knew how much I missed trash talking kids and not have to worry about being banned

it wont be pushed until Nintendo starts to ramp up the VR industry. If Sony or Valve can make a VR set thats extremely cheap and innovated enough that children and older adults can enjoy. Then we can see the game industry shift. Remember that motion controls were a thing back in the 80s and 90s, but it wasnt until Nintendo that made it cheaper and easier to use.

At this point I feel like I’ve paid a ridiculous price for my setup just to play like 5 games. Valve hasn’t updated the index in months or made more than a single game for it. VR has so far been a lot more of a gimmick than the technology allows for but the potential is there. The main reason more studios aren’t making or investing in VR games is most likely that they don’t make as much money as they would on PC or console. But with companies like Meta and Sony still trying to push the market I hope VR will start to become more heavily embraced. But by then I may have to buy a new $1000 headset so yeah probably just wait.

The single block of ads is definitely better. As you said it will lead to less interruptions and an overall smoother flow for the podcast. Plus it’s easier to skip when I’m listening on YT.

50 years?? Jackson are you dumb. They don’t use profit only from the future Activision blizzard games to recoup the loss. They have other streams of profit.
